Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui Pemaknaan Tato Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang Menggunakan Tato. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1.) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemaknaan tato di lingkungan kampus yang terdapat pada kalangan mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta 2.) Untuk mengetahui apakah motif dari mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta dalam menggunakan tato. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek dari penelitian ini terdapat 5 informan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: 1.) Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang memiliki tato memaknai tato sebagai seni dan simbol kebebasan. Pemaknaan tato di kalangan mahasiswa lebih kompleks daripada sekadar hiasan tubuh. Tato Selain itu tato dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri sebagai identitas diri seseorang. 2.) Terdapat dua faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta memiliki tato yaitu, faktor internal terdiri dari minat, ekspresi, dan religius sedangkan faktor eksternal terdiri dari pengaruh lingkungan dan pengaruh tokoh idola. ******* This research was conducted to determine The Meaning of Tattoos among Jakarta State University Students Who Wear Tattoos. The aims of this research are 1.) To find out how tattoos are interpreted in the campus environment among Jakarta State University students. 2.) To find out what the motives of Jakarta State University students are for using tattoos. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were 5 informants. The results of this research show that: 1.) Jakarta State University students who have tattoos interpret tattoos as art and a symbol of freedom. The meaning of tattoos among students is more complex than just body decoration. Tattoos Apart from that, tattoos can increase self-confidence as a person's identity. 2.) There are two factors that influence Jakarta State University students to have tattoos, namely, internal factors consisting of interest, expression and religion while external factors consist of environmental influences and the influence of idol figures
