Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS pada siswa di SMPN 242 Jakarta pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang masing masing kelas berjumlah 34 anak pada semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024 dari bulan Februari sampai Mei 2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy Eksperimental dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan bentuk design penelitian Pretest-Posttest Control Design. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMPN 242 Jakarta. Adanya peningkatan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dilihat dari hasil rata rata post-test lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil rata rata pre-test. Dalam pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney diperoleh hasil Asymp.Sig 0.044 dengan taraf siginifikansi 0,05 yang mana 0,044<0,05. Maka dapat disimpulkan H0 yang menyatakan tidak adanya pengaruh pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran IPS ditolak. Sedangkan H1 yang menyatakan ada pengaruh pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran IPS diterima. ***** This research aims to determine the influence of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning among students at SMPN 242 Jakarta, in both experimental and control classes, each consisting of 34 students during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year from February to May 2024. The research method used in this study is Quasi-Experimental with a quantitative approach, employing a Pretest-Posttest Control Design. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the scientific approach on critical thinking skills in social studies learning at SMPN 242 Jakarta. An improvement in critical thinking skills is observed from the higher average post-test scores compared to the average pre-test scores. In the hypothesis testing using the Mann Whitney test, the result of Asymp.Sig is 0.044 with a significance level of 0.05, which means 0.044<0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0, which states that there is no influence of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning, is rejected. Conversely, H1, which states that there is an influence of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning, is accepted.
