Abstract
Penelitian ini berupaya mengangkat permasalahan antara lain: skor PISA Indonesia masih rendah, generasi muda yang menjauh dari diskursus sosial dan politik, maraknya debat kusir di media sosial, proliferasi debat yang masih minim, dan ekstrakurikuler debat SMAN 36 Jakarta yang belum meraih juara dalam 2 tahun terakhir. Terdapat tiga tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, mengembangkan kurikulum ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS di SMAN 36 Jakarta. Kedua, mendeskripsikan hasil kelayakan kurikulum ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS di SMAN 36 Jakarta. Ketiga, mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah implementasi kurikulum ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS di SMAN 36 Jakarta. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan campuran (mix method) dan menggunakan metode penelitian Research and Development (R&D). Metode R&D secara umum terdiri dari analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, lalu pengembangan produk. Sementara dalam penelitian ini mengadaptasikan model pengembangan kurikulum Hilda Taba yang terdiri dari: diagnosis kebutuhan, rumusan tujuan, seleksi materi, organisasi materi, seleksi pengalaman belajar, organisasi pengalaman belajar, serta menentukan cara dan alat evaluasi. Data diperoleh melalui lima cara, yaitu: pengamatan, wawancara, angket, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik ekstrakurikuler debat di SMAN 36 Jakarta. Adapun ahli yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini meliputi ahli debat, ahli pembelajaran, dan ahli bahasa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari November 2023 hingga Juli 2024. Produk akhir dari penelitian ini diantaranya: rancangan kurikulum dan bahan ajar berupa modul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS mendapatkan penilaian yang optimal. Hasil uji kelayakan para ahli menunjukkan bahwa produk pengembangan dikategorikan “Sangat Layak”, yakni persentase kelayakan ahli debat sebesar 83,75%, ahli pembelajaran sebesar 95,16%, dan ahli bahasa sebesar 100%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS layak diujicobakan. Hasil uji coba kepada peserta didik sebagai bentuk implementasi uji coba menunjukkan hal yang sama, yakni produk pengembangan dikategorikan “Sangat Layak”. Dalam uji coba satu-satu diperoleh persentase kelayakan sebesar 94,17% dan uji coba kelompok kecil sebesar 98,75%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum pelatihan ekstrakurikuler debat berbasis HOTS yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif kurikulum pelatihan dalam ekstrakurikuler debat. ***** This research seeks to address the following issues: Indonesia's low PISA score, the young generation's distance from social and political discourse, the rise of duel debates on social media, the lack of debate proliferation, and the extracurricular debate of SMAN 36 Jakarta, which has not won in the last two years. There are three main objectives in this research. First, to develop a HOTS-based extracurricular debate curriculum at SMAN 36 Jakarta. Second, to describe the feasibility results of the HOTS-based extracurricular debate curriculum at SMAN 36 Jakarta. Third, to describe the implementation steps of the HOTS-based debate extracurricular curriculum at SMAN 36 Jakarta. The research approach used is a mixed approach (mix method) and uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method. The R&D method generally consists of: analysis of needs, design, and product development. Meanwhile, this study adapted Hilda Taba's curriculum development model which consists of: diagnosis of needs, formulation of objectives, selection of materials, organisation of materials, selection of learning experiences, organisation of learning experiences, and determining ways and means of evaluation. Data were obtained through five methods, namely: observation, interview, questionnaire, literature study and documentation. The research subjects in this study were extracurricular debate students at SMAN 36 Jakarta. The experts involved in this research include debate experts and learning experts. This research was conducted from November 2023 to July 2024. The final products of this research include: curriculum design and teaching materials in the form of modules. The results showed that the development of HOTS-based debate extracurricular curriculum received an optimal assessment. The results of the feasibility test of the experts showed that the development product was categorized as “Very Feasible”, namely the percentage of feasibility of debate experts by 83.75%, learning experts by 95.16%, and linguists by 100%. This shows that the HOTS-based debate extracurricular curriculum is feasible to be tested. The results of the trial to students as a form of trial implementation showed the same thing, namely the development product was categorized as “Very Feasible”. In the one-on-one trial, the percentage of feasibility was 94.17% and the small group trial was 98.75%. This shows that the HOTS-based extracurricular debate training curriculum developed can be used as an alternative training curriculum in extracurricular debate.
