Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe gallery walk terhadap keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Keterampilan komunikasi merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan pada abad ke-21 dan menjadi faktor keberhasilan pembelajaran. Sehingga, keterampilan ini penting untuk dimiliki dan dikembangkan oleh peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan menerapkan desain pre-test dan post-test control group. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SMA Negeri 75 Jakarta dengan populasi kelas XI sebanyak 252 peserta didik. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 72 orang yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas XI-1U sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI-2U sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel ini diperoleh dari penerapan teknik nonprobability sampling dengan jenis purposive sampling. Data keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik diperoleh melalui instrumen angket dan pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar < 0,001 yang berarti kurang dari 0,05 (< 0,05). Sehingga, kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah terdapat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe gallery walk terhadap keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik. Berdasarkan perhitungan effect size dengan rumus Cohen’s diperoleh besaran pengaruh sebesar 1,12 yang terkategori large (besar) dan berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, peserta didik memiliki keterampilan komunikasi yang sangat baik. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi, Abad 21, Model Pembelajaran, dan Gallery Walk. ***** This study aims to examine the effect of the gallery walk type cooperative learning model on students’ communication skills in Pancasila Education Subjects. Communication skills are one of the skills needed in the 21st century, and a factor in the succes of the learning. So, this skill is important to owned and develop for students. The approach used in this study is quantitative with the quasi experimental method and applying a pre-test and post-test control group design. This research is located at SMA Negeri 75 Jakarta with a class XI population of 252 students. The sample in this study was 72 people consisting of two classes, namely class XI-1U as the experimental class and XI-2U as the control class. This sample was obtained from the application of nonprobability sampling technique with purposive sampling. Data on students’ communication skills were obtained thrugh questionnaire instruments and observation. The research results show a significance value of < 0,001 which means less than 0.05 (<0.05). So, the conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of the gallery walk type cooperative learning model on students’ communication skills. Based on the calculation of the effect size using the Cohen’s formula, an effect size of 1,12 is obtained which is categorized as large and based on the result of observations, students had very good communication skills.
