Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perspektif estetika pada motif kontemporer dengan sumber ide filosofi kehidupan masyarakat suku Tolaki yang tidak hanya melestarikan warisan budaya Suku Tolaki tetapi juga menghadirkan nilai-nilai tradisional mereka dalam format yang relevan dengan zaman modern. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sulawesi Tenggara tepatnya di kota Kendari dengan informan sebanyak empat yang merupakan tokoh, pegiat seni, hingga ahli tekstil dan desain dengan objek penelitian berupa motif kontemporer sebanyak lima. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Berdasarkan fokus-fokus penelitian motif-motif ini secara keseluruhan telah berhasil merefleksikan filosofi kehidupan suku Tolaki dengan baik, sejalan dengan kondisi alam Sulawesi Tenggara dan mengindikasikan bahwa perspektif estetika motif kontemporer dengan sumber ide filosofi kehidupan masyarakat suku Tolaki mendapat tanggapan positif, dengan saran untuk penyempurnaan pada aspek-aspek tertentu seperti penggunaan warna, keharmonisan yang dapat diperbaiki. Secara keseluruhan, motif "Nirwana" mendapatkan perspektif estetika terbaik dari sub fokus wujud dan motif kesatu, ketiga, dan kelima sebagai motif yang dipilih pada bobot atau isi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa desain motif budaya Tolaki bukan hanya sebagai objek seni visual yang indah, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang efektif untuk memperkuat identitas budaya lokal dan mempromosikan kekayaan alam Sulawesi Tenggara. ********** The study aims to explore the aesthetic perspective of contemporary motifs inspired by the philosophical ideas of Tolaki community life, aiming not only to preserve the cultural legacy of the Tolaki people but also to present their traditional values in a format relevant to modern times. Conducted in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, the research involved four informants comprising community leaders, art activists, textile experts, and designers, focusing on five contemporary motifs as the research objects. The research methodology employed a descriptive approach with qualitative methods. The findings indicate that overall, these motifs successfully reflect the philosophical essence of Tolaki community life, aligning well with the natural environment of Southeast Sulawesi. They also suggest that the aesthetic perspective of contemporary motifs inspired by the philosophical ideas of Tolaki community life has received positive feedback, with recommendations for improvements in specific aspects such as color usage and harmony enhancement. Overall, the motif "Nirwana" received the highest aesthetic rating as the best aesthetic perspective within the visual aspects, with motifs one, three, and five chosen for their thematic depth and richness. Thus, this study emphasizes that Tolaki cultural motifs serve not only as beautiful visual artworks but also as effective mediums to strengthen local cultural identity and promote the natural richness of Southeast Sulawesi.
