Abstract

Dalam menyiapkan mahasiswa memasuki dunia kerja, perguruan tinggi saat ini lebih menekankan pada peningkatan keterampilan kerja (employability) yang dilakukan dengan pembelajaran di luar kelas. Padahal, persepsi mahasiswa akan kemampuan kerjanya dan peluang dirinya untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan (self-perceived employability) juga dibutuhkan mahasiswa untuk melewati masa transisi ke dunia kerja dan hal ini dapat dicapai melalui pembelajaran di kelas. Melalui proses perkuliahan di kelas dengan strategi regulasi diri dalam belajar yang baik dan memiliki perencanaan serta tujuan karier yang jelas dapat memengaruhi self-perceived employability. Penelitian ini menggambarkan peran mediasi self-regulated learning pada proses pengaruh kematangan karier terhadap self-perceived employability. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala kematangan karier (32 butir), Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (43 butir), dan self-perceived employability scale (16 butir). Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 193 mahasiswa S1 tingkat akhir dari perguruan tinggi di daerah Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien efek tidak langsung sebesar 0.130 (p < 0.05), nilai confidence interval 95% Lower Level of Confidence Interval dan Upper Level of Confidence Interval (CI 95% LLCI dan ULCI) tidak melewati nol, serta koefisien efek langsung sebesar 0.118 (p < 0.05). Hal ini berarti self-regulated learning memediasi secara parsial hubungan kematangan karier terhadap self-perceived employability. Mahasiswa dengan perencanaan dan tujuan karier yang jelas dan memiliki strategi pembelajaran yang baik selama masa perkuliahan, akan meningkat persepsi kemampuan bekerjanya sehingga peluang untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang sesuai lebih besar. Selain proses perkuliahan di dalam kelas, perguruan tinggi melalui layanan pusat karier dapat memfasilitasi kebutuhan mahasiswa dalam mendapatkan informasi dan pengalaman terkait dunia kerja dengan berbagai kegiatan dan program terkait karier. ***** In preparing students for the workforce, higher education institutions today place a greater emphasis on enhancing employability skills through experiential learning. However, students' perceptions of their employability and their chances of obtaining employment (self-perceived employability) are also crucial for navigating the transition to the labor market, and these perceptions can be developed through classroom learning. Classroom instruction, coupled with effective self-regulated learning strategies and clear career planning and goals, can influence self-perceived employability. This study examines the mediating role of self-regulated learning in the relationship between career maturity and self-perceived employability. The instruments used include the Career Maturity Scale (32 items), the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (43 items), and the Self-Perceived Employability Scale (16 items). The study involved 193 final-year undergraduate students from universities in the Jabodetabek area. The research findings indicate that the indirect effect coefficient is 0.130 (p < 0.05), with the 95% confidence interval (CI) for the lower limit confidence interval (LLCI) and upper limit confidence interval (ULCI) not crossing zero, and the direct effect coefficient is 0.118 (p < 0.05). This suggests that self-regulated learning partially mediates the relationship between career maturity and self-perceived employability. Students with clear career planning and goals, along with effective learning strategies during their studies, have an enhanced perception of their employability, thereby increasing their chances of securing appropriate employment. In addition to classroom instruction, higher education institutions can support students by providing career center services that offer information and experience related to the labor market through various career-related activities and programs.
