Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memahami bacaan bagi anak dengan hambatan intelektua. Yang mana kita ketahui anak dengan hambatan intelektual, ditandai dengan IQ di bawah rata-rata dan menghadapi tantangan dalam perhatian, ingatan, dan pemahaman, sering mengalami kesulitan dalam kemampuan membaca. Keterampilan membaca umumnya dimulai pada tingkat sekolah dasar, dengan fokus pada keterampilan membaca dasar. Berdasarkan observasi awal, keterampilan pemahaman membaca siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual di kelas 10 SMA Garuda Cendekia sangat rendah. Siswa ini kesulitan untuk memahami isi buku atau teks yang dibaca, bahkan dalam beberapa kalimat atau paragraf. Penelitian ini berfokus pada meningkatkan pemahaman membaca, khususnya dalam memahami konten literal. Penelitian ini menegaskan efektivitas penggunaan metode membaca dengan keras dan repetisi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca pada siswa kelas 10 dengan disabilitas intelektual di SMA Garuda Cendekia. ***** This research is to improve the ability to understand reading for children with intellectual disabilities. We know that children with intellectual disabilities, characterized by below average IQs and facing challenges in attention, memory and comprehension, often experience difficulties in reading skills. Reading skills generally begin at the elementary school level, with a focus on basic reading skills. Based on initial observations, the reading comprehension ability of students with intellectual disabilities in class 10 of Garuda Scholar High School is very low. These students have difficulty understanding the contents of the book or text they are reading, even in a few sentences or paragraphs. This research focuses on improving reading comprehension, especially in understanding literal content. This research confirms the effectiveness of using the reading aloud and repeated method in improving reading comprehension in grade 10 students with intellectual disabilities at Garuda Scholar High School.
