Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap civic knowledge pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen yang terdapat kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang menerapkan desain pre-test dan post-test control group. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SMA Negeri 45 Jakarta dengan populasi kelas XI sebanyak 288 siswa. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 72 orang yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas 11H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 11F sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel ini diperoleh dari teknik probability sampling dengan jenis simple random sampling. Data yang diperoleh melalui instrumen tes soal civic knowledge. Penelitian ini diperoleh dengan melihat nilai signifikansi pada uji Independent Sample T-Test dan nilai alpha sebesar 0,05. Nilai signifikansi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,041 yang berarti kurang dari 0,05 (<0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh dari metode pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap peningkatan civic knowledge siswa. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji besaran efek dengan rumus cohens d, diperoleh besaran pengaruh sebesar 0.6 atau 73% yang terkategori sedang (medium effect size). ***** This research aims to test the effect of discovery learning methods on civic knowledge in Pancasila education subjects. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method consisting of an experimental class and a control class that applies a pre-test and post-test control group design. This research was located at SMA Negeri 45 Jakarta with a class XI population of 288 students. The sample in this study was 72 people consisting of two classes, namely class 11H as the experimental class and class 11F as the control class. This sample was obtained from a probability sampling technique with simple random sampling. Data obtained through civic knowledge test instruments. This research was obtained by looking at the significance value in the Independent Sample T-Test and the alpha value was 0.05. The significance value obtained was 0.041, which means less than 0.05 (<0.05). The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the discovery learning method on increasing students' civic knowledge. Based on the calculation of the effect size test using the Cohen's d formula, an effect size of 0.6 or 73% is obtained which is categorized as medium (medium effect size).
