Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh financial literacy, self control terhadap financial management behavior pada gen z. penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan sumber data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara daring. Sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria sampel gen z, berdomisili di JABODETABEK, pernah dan menggunakan Shopee. Jumlah sampel yang dikumpulkan sebanyak 251 responden dengan diolah menggunakan model penelitian SEM PLS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa uji hipotesis financial literacy terhadap financial management behavior memiliki keterkaitan yang positif dan signifikan, self control berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap financial management behavior, financial literacy memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap self control. Selain itu self control sebagai variabel mediasi mampu mempengaruhi pengaruh antara financial literacy terhadap financial management behavior. Adapun implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini diharapkan GenZ dapat terus meningkatkan atau mengamankan kesadaran akan pentingnya financial literacy serta membangun dan mampu mengontrol diri mereka untuk tidak berbelanja secara berlebihan sehingga memiliki kemampuan dalam mengelola keuangan mereka. Kata kunci: financial literacy, self control, financial management behavior, Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB)***** ***** This research aims to determine the influence of financial literacy and self-control on financial management behavior in Gen Z. This research uses quantitative methods with primary data sources using questionnaires distributed online. The research sample used a purposive sampling technique with the sample criteria being Gen Z, domiciled in JABODETABEK, have used and used Shopee. The number of samples collected was 251 respondents and processed using the SEM PLS research model. The results of this study show that the financial literacy hypothesis test on financial management behavior has a positive and significant relationship, self control has a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior, financial literacy has a positive and significant relationship with self control. Apart from that, self-control as a mediating variable is able to influence the relationship between financial literacy and financial management behavior. As for the practical implications of this research, it is hoped that GenZ can continue to increase or maintain awareness of the importance of financial literacy and build and be able to control themselves not to shop excessively so that they have the ability to manage their finances.
