Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menggosok gigi sesuai dengan langkah yang benar menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung kepada peserta didik hambatan intelektual kategori sedang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik hambatan intelektual kategori sedang kelas III di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri 12 Jakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengumpulan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif didapat melalui tes kinerja dan data kualitatif melalui observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil rata-rata kemampuan peserta didik dalam menggosok gigi sebelum diberikan tindakan yaitu 36,42% dengan kategori nilai “Sangat Kurang”, kemudian setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus I rata-rata kemampuan peserta didik meningkat menjadi 69,28% dengan kategori nilai “Baik”. Pada siklus II kemampuan peserta didik kembali meningkat dengan hasil rata-rata 87,13% dengan kategori nilai “Sangat Baik”. Perbandingan nilai kemampuan menggosok gigi peserta didik dari sebelum diberikan tindakan dan setelah diberikan tindakan pada siklus I dan siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 50,71%. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran langsung berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan menggosok gigi peserta didik. Dengan meningkatnya kemampuan menggosok gigi, peserta didik dapat menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulutnya. ****** This research aims to improve toothbrushing ability following the correct steps through direct instruction model for students with moderate intellectual disabilities. The research method employed Classroom Action Research (CAR/PTK). The research subjects were third grade pupils with moderate intellectual disabilities at Extraordinary School (SLB) Negeri 12 Jakarta. The data were collected using quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data were gathered through performance tests, while qualitative data were collected through observation, field notes, and documentation. The data were subjected to qualitative and quantitative analyses. On average, the results show that the students' ability to toothbrushing before the intervention was 36.42%, which was categorized as "Very Poor", whereas after the cycle I intervention, the average increased to 69.28%, classified as "Good". In cycle II, the students' abilities also rose with an average result of 87.13%, classified as "Very Good". In comparison, the students' toothbrushing skills before and after the intervention in cycle I and II indicated an increase of 50.71%. The research concludes that the direct instruction model was effective in strengthening students' toothbrushing skill. By having their skill improved, the students can maintain the health of their teeth and mouths.
