Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi melalui model RADEC (read, answer, discuss, explain and create) siswa kelas V SDI Izzudin. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi observasi awal yang menunjukan rendahnya keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa, dilihat dari hasil tes keterampilan menulis siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 63. Rata-rata tersebut masih di bawah skor minimal keterampilan menulis yang ditetapkan yaitu 75. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDI Izzudin sebanyak 30 siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi tindakan guru dan siswa melalui lembar observasi, tes praktik keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi melalui lembar tes, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini antara lain : (1) keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran RADEC berkategori sangat baik, dimana pada siklus I persentase aktivitas guru sebesar 86,1% dan persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 75,6%. Pada siklus II persentase aktivitas guru sebesar 90,9% dan persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 90,9%. Pada siklus III persentase aktivitas guru sebesar 95,1% dan persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 93%, (2) Hasil tes praktik keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi setiap siklus mengalami peningkatan setelah diterapkan model RADEC. Hasil pra siklus tes keterampilan menulis siswa dengan persentase keberhasilan siswa sebesar 30%. Pada siklus I persentase keberhasilan menulis siswa meningkat menjadi 56,6%. Pada siklus II persentase keberhasilan menulis siswa meningkat menjadi 83% dan pada siklus III persentase keberhasilan menulis siswa meningkat menjadi 93,3%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model RADEC dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eskplanasi siswa dan keterampilan menulis teks eskplanasi siswa dapat meningkat secara signifikan melalui model RADEC. Kata Kunci : keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi, model RADEC, siswa kelas V SD*****This research aims to improve the skills of writing explanatory texts through the RADEC model (read, answer, discuss, explain and create) for fifth grade students at SDI Izzudin. This research was motivated by initial observations which showed the low level of students' explanatory text writing skills, seen from the results of the students' writing skills test with an average score of 63. This average was still below the minimum score for writing skills set at 75. The sample in this research was students class V SDI Izzudin has 30 students. The method used is classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. Data collection was carried out using observations of teacher and student actions through observation sheets, practical tests of explanatory text writing skills through test sheets, field notes and documentation. The results obtained from this research include: (1) the implementation of the RADEC learning model is categorized as very good, where in cycle I the percentage of teacher activity was 86.1% and the percentage of student activity was 75.6%. In cycle II, the percentage of teacher activity was 90.9% and the percentage of student activity was 90.9%. In cycle III, the percentage of teacher activity was 95.1% and the percentage of student activity was 93%. (2) The results of practice tests on explanatory text writing skills for each cycle increased after the RADEC model was implemented. The results of the pre-cycle test on students' writing skills with a student success percentage of 30%. In cycle I, the percentage of students' writing success increased to 56,6%. In cycle II the percentage of students' writing success increased to 83% and in cycle III the percentage of students' writing success increased to 93.3%. These results indicate that the application of the RADEC model can improve students' descriptive text writing skills and students' descriptive text writing skills can improve significantly through the RADEC model.
