Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA pada siswa melalui pendekatan I-SETS (Islami, Science, Environment, Technology, Society). Pendekatan I-SETS adalah pendekatan yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam dengan konsep sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat agar membuat tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai. Selain itu pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan I-SETS mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang nyata dan menyesuaikan dengan keterampilan abad 21. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Manggarai 03 yang terdiri atas 15 siswa perempuan dan 10 siswa laki-laki. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pemahaman konsep IPA yang diberikan pada akhir setiap siklus, pemantauan tindakan guru dan siswa, serta catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa dan respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan pendekatan I-SETS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan I-SETS mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa pada siklus I memperoleh ketuntasan sebesar 52% lalu meningkat sebesar 32% pada siklus II yaitu menjadi 84%. Aktivitas guru dan siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Dengan demikian penerapan pendekatan I-SETS dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa kelas v SDN Manggarai 03. Kata Kunci: Pemahaman Konsep, IPA, Pendekatan I-SETS ***** This research aims to increase students' understanding of science concepts through the I-SETS (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) approach. The I-SETS approach is an approach that integrates Islamic values with the concepts of science, environment, technology, and society to achieve learning goals. Apart from that, learning using the I-SETS approach can provide real learning experiences and adapt to 21st-century skills. This research uses the classroom action research (CAR) method which was carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects of this research were class V students at SDN Manggarai 03 consisting of 15 female students and 10 male students. Data was collected through science concept understanding tests given at the end of each cycle, monitoring teacher and student actions, as well as field notes. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively to evaluate the increase in students' understanding of science concepts and students' responses to learning using the I-SETS approach. The research results showed that the I-SETS approach was able to increase students' understanding of science concepts in cycle I, achieving completeness by 52%, then increased by 32% in cycle II, namely to 84%. Teacher and student activities also increased from cycle I to cycle II. Thus, the application of the I-SETS approach can increase the understanding of science concepts for class 5 students at SDN Manggarai 03. Keywords: Concept Understanding, Science, I-SETS Approach
