Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengetahui gambaran fenomena Cyberbullying yang dialami siswa SMP di Jakarta Timur. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 337 siswa di SMPN 25 Jakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik incidental sampling menggunakan instrumen adaptasi Cyberbullying and Online Aggression Survey Instrument (COAS) yang dikembangkan oleh Hinduja dan Patchin (2024). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa 41% siswa pernah mengalami cyberbullying dan 36,8% siswa pernah melakukan cyberbullying. Dimensi tertinggi yang dialami korban adalah Denigration yang dapat menyebabkan harga diri yang merendah dan dimensi tertinggi yang dilakukan pelaku adalah Exclusion yang dapat menyebabkan semakin tinggi agresivitas. Cyberbullying adalah masalah yang signifikan di kalangan remaja dan membutuhkan perhatian serius dari pihak sekolah dan orangtua. Melaksanakan konseling kelompok berdasarkan dimensi tertinggi pada korban dan pelaku untuk menciptakan ruang aman dan menangani konten negatif. ****** This study focuses on understanding the phenomenon of cyberbullying experienced by middle school students in East Jakarta. The research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method. The subjects of the study comprised 337 students from SMPN 25 Jakarta. Data collection was conducted through incidental sampling techniques using the adapted Cyberbullying and Online Aggression Survey Instrument (COAS) developed by Hinduja and Patchin (2024). The results revealed that 41% of students had experienced cyberbullying, and 36.8% of students had engaged in cyberbullying. The highest dimension experienced by victims was Denigration, which can lead to decreased self-esteem, while the highest dimension carried out by perpetrators was Exclusion, which can increase aggressiveness. Cyberbullying is a significant issue among adolescents and requires serious attention from schools and parents. Implementing group counseling based on the highest dimensions for both victims and perpetrators is recommended to create a safe space and address negative content.
