Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh model value clarification technique berbantuan media puzzle terhadap peningkatan karakter toleransi berdasarkan moral siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di dua Sekolah yaitu SD Kartika 1-10 dan SD Kartika 1-11 Padang pada kelas IV SD tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling yang telah dilakukan kepada 74 siswa. Objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV A SD Kartika 1-10 dengan jumlah 36 siswa di kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model value clarification technique berbantuan media puzzle dan di kelas IV A SD Kartika 1-11 Padang dengan jumlah siswa 38 siswa di kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan model konvensional metode ceramah. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain treatment by level 2x2. Uji stasistik yang digunakan adalah statistic deskriptif untuk menyajikan data yang dilanjutkan dengan uji prasyarat untuk mengetahui uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas lalu, dilanjutkan dengan uji statistic inferensial dengan menggunakan ANAVA dua jalur dengan taraf α = 0,05, setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) peningkatan karakter toleransi siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model value clarification technique berbantuan media puzzle lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model konvensional berbasis ceramah, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05; (2) terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara penerapan model pembelajaran dan nilai moral terhadap peningkatan karakter toleransi siswa dengan nilai signifikansi 0,002 < 0,05; (3) peningkatan karakter toleransi siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model value clarification technique berbantuan media puzzle lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model konvensional berbasis ceramah pada kelompok siswa yang memiliki nilai moral tinggi dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05; dan (4) peningkatan karakter toleransi siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model value clarification technique berbantuan media puzzle lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model konvensional berbasis ceramah pada kelompok siswa yang memiliki nilai moral rendah dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Dari pemaparan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa hasil model Value Clarification Technique berbantuan media puzzle lebih efektif untuk diterapkan pada siswa yang memiliki nilai moral tinggi dan rendah karena difasilitasi untuk meningkatkan karakter toleransi siswa. Kata Kunci: Model Value Clarification Technique, Media Puzzle, Moral, Karakter Toleransi / This study aims to determine the effect of the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media on the improvement of tolerance character based on student morals in Social Studies learning in grade IV elementary school. This research was conducted in two schools, namely SD Kartika 1-10 and SD Kartika 1-11 Padang, in grade IV elementary school in the 2023/2024 academic year, using cluster sampling techniques that have been carried out on 74 students. The research object was grade IV A students of SD Kartika 1-10 with a total of 36 students in the experimental class using the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media and in grade IV A students of SD Kartika 1-11 Padang with a total of 38 students in the control class using conventional methods. lecture. The method used is an experiment with a 2x2 treatment by level design. The statistical test used is descriptive statistics to present the data, followed by a prerequisite test to determine the normality and homogeneity tests, then continued with inferential statistical tests using two-way ANOVA with α = 0.05, after which it is continued with the Tukey test. The results of the study show that: (1) the increase in tolerance character of students taught using the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media is higher than students taught using conventional lecture-based models, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05; (2) there is an interaction effect between the application of the learning model and moral values on the increase in tolerance character of students with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05; (3) the increase in tolerance character of students taught using the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media is higher than students taught using conventional lecture-based models in the group of students who have high moral values with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05; and (4) the increase in tolerance character of students taught using the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media is higher than students taught using conventional lecture-based models in the group of students who have low moral values with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. From the presentation of the research results, it can be concluded that the results of the Value Clarification Technique model assisted by puzzle media are more effective to be applied to students who have high and low moral values because it is facilitated to improve the tolerance character of students.
