Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan kemampuan penggunaan uang peserta didik yang masih rendah dan hanya melakukan kegiatan jual beli dengan pola berulang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan uang bagi peserta didik hambatan intelelektual kelas XI di SLBN 02 Jakarta melalui model direct instruction dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan tanya jawab disertai media gambar dan media konkret uang asli. Subjek penelitian 3 peserta didik. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi foto. Sebelum pelaksanaan tindakan, diperoleh hasil 37,5% dengan kategori sangat kurang artinya dari 12 butir penilaian dihasilkan, 10 butir masih memerlukan bantuan dan bimbingan secara penuh dan 2 lainnya memerlukan bantuan secara verbal dan nonverbal. Siklus I, hasil meningkat menjadi 70,13% dengan kategori baik artinya dari 12 butir penilaian dihasilkan 1 butir masih memerlukan bantuan dan bimbingan secara penuh, 8 butir memerlukan bantuan secara verbal dan nonverbal, 2 butir masih memerlukan bantuan secara verbal saja, dan 1 sudah mampu mampu secara mandiri tanpa bantuan. Siklus II, hasil meningkat menjadi 92,36% dengan kategori sangat baik, Artinya dari 12 butir penilaian dihasilkan 7 butir masih memerlukan bantuan secara verbal saja, dan 5 lainnya sudah mampu mampu secara mandiri tanpa bantuan. Selain itu, peningkatan juga terlihat dari perubahan sikap peserta didik yang menjadi lebih percaya diri dan yakin, serta menjadi lebih mandiri, tidak membutuhkan bantuan dan bimbingan secara penuh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model direct instruction dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan uang bagi peserta didik hambatan intelelektual sedang. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Penggunaan Uang, Direct Instruction, Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, Hambatan Intelektual Kategori Sedang. ***** This research is motivated by the problem of the ability to use money for students who are still low and only do buying and selling activities with repetitive patterns. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to use money for students with intellectual disabilities in class XI at SLBN 02 Jakarta through direct instruction models with lecture, demonstration, and question and answer methods accompanied by pictures and concrete media of real money. The research subjects were 3 learners. This research method is a class action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques using tests, observation, and photo documentation. Before the implementation of the action, the results obtained were 37.5% with a very poor category meaning that of the 12 assessment items produced, 10 items still required full assistance and guidance and the other 2 required verbal and nonverbal assistance. Cycle I, the results increased to 70.13% with a good category meaning that of the 12 assessment items produced 1 item still required full assistance and guidance, 8 items required verbal and nonverbal assistance, 2 items still required verbal assistance only, and 1 was able to be able to independently without assistance. Cycle II, the results increased to 92.36% with a very good category, meaning that of the 12 assessment items produced 7 items still required verbal assistance only, and the other 5 were able to be able to independently without assistance. In addition, the improvement can also be seen from changes in the attitude of students who become more confident and confident, and become more independent, not requiring full assistance and guidance. The results of this study indicate that the direct instruction model can improve the ability to use money for learners with moderate intellectual disabilities.
