Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan strategi yang digunakan guru dalam mengelola emosi peserta didik hambatan pendengaran pada proses pembelajaran di SLB Negeri 02 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas 2 bagian B. Berdasarkan fenomena di lapangan, ditemukan peserta didik hambatan pendengaran yang mampu mengelola emosi dengan baik. Pernyataan ini berbanding terbalik dengan kajian literatur yang dikemukakan oleh Emotions in Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and Typically Hearing Children yang mendefinisikan bahwa anak dengan hambatan pendengaran mengekspresikan emosi negatif mereka dengan kurang sesuai situasi dan kondisi daripada anak dengan tanpa hambatan pendengaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru menggunakan Strategi RULER serta komunikasi guru dan orangtua untuk mengelola emosi peserta didik hambatan pendengaran. ***** This study aims to describe the application of strategies used by teachers in managing the emotions of hearing impaired students in the learning process at SLB Negeri 02 Jakarta. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The subject of this research is class 2 section B. Based on the phenomenon in the field, it was found that hearing impaired learners were able to manage emotions well. This statement is inversely proportional to the literature review proposed by Emotions in Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and Typically Hearing Children which defines that children with hearing impairments express their negative emotions less according to situations and conditions than children with no hearing impairments. The results of this study show that teachers use the RULER Strategy as well as teacher and parent communication to manage the emotions of hearing impaired learners.
