Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi yang digunakan guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa siswa hambatan pendengaran disertai pemusatan perhatian dan hiperaktivitas di kelas D2A SLB B Pangudi Luhur Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ialah guru kelas dan siswa kelas 2A yang memiliki hambatan pendengaran disertai pemusatan perhatian dan hiperaktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa siswa hambatan pendengaran dan hiperaktivitas yaitu strategi pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa melalui pembelajaran individual dan modifikasi perilaku diantaranya (1) pembiasaan membaca buku fiksi dan program 3S (senyum, sapa, dan salam) sebelum proses pembelajaran; (2) pemanasan bersuara “aaaiiiuuueeeooo”, latihan mendengar, dan wicara terpadu; (3) pendekatan pembelajaran student center learning, penerapan metode maternal reflektif dan metode demonstrasi, penggunaan media pembelajaran konkret, gambar, dan platform internet, serta penggunaan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar; (4) penerapan reinforcement positif dan pemberian hukuman; (5) pemberian prompt verbal, fisik, dan visual selama proses pembelajaran; (6) memantau perkembangan perilaku siswa bersama orang tua melalui catatan perilaku dan tabel perilaku. Kegiatan penunjang dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa yaitu bina persepsi bunyi dan irama (BPBI), wicara individual, dan wicara klasikal. Strategi pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa melalui pembelajaran individual dan modifikasi perilaku dapat menjadi strategi yang tepat untuk digunakan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa siswa hambatan pendengaran disertai pemusatan perhatian dan hiperaktivitas. ***** The aim of this research is to describe the strategies used by teachers to improve the language skills of students with hearing impairments accompanied by attention and hyperactivity disorders in class D2A SLB B Pangudi Luhur West Jakarta. This research employs a case study method with a qualitative research approach. The data sources for this study are class teachers and 2A students who have hearing impairments accompanied by attention and hyperactivity disorders. The results of the study indicate that the strategies used by teachers to improve the language skills of students with hearing impairments and hyperactivity involve language skills development strategies through individualized learning and behavior modification, including (1) establishing the habit of reading fiction books and the 3S program (smile, greet, and salute) before the learning process begins; (2) vocal warm-ups "aaaiiiuuueeeooo", listening exercises, and integrated speech training; (3) student-centered learning approaches, the application of reflective maternal methods and demonstration methods, the use of concrete learning media, images, and internet platforms, as well as utilizing the surrounding environment as a learning resource; (4) the application of positive reinforcement and provision of punishments; (5) providing verbal, physical, and visual prompts during the learning process; (6) monitoring the behavior development of students with parents through behavior notes and behavior tables. Supporting activities for improving language skills include sound and rhythm perception training, individual speech training, and classical speech training. Language skills development strategies through individualized learning and behavior modification can be effective strategies for teachers to use in enhancing the language abilities of students with hearing impairments accompanied by attention and hyperactivity disorders.
