Abstract
************ This study aims to examine the design needs of swimwear for swimmers with physical disabilities, specifically female adolescent swimmers with limb impairments in Jakarta Paraswim. The right swimwear design is essential in supporting comfort, mobility, and performance during training and competition for athletes with disabilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The informants in this study include three swimmers with physical disabilities from Jakarta Paraswim, along with their guardians and coaches. The results of the study show that swimmers with physical disabilities require swimwear that is not only functional but also provides optimal comfort and support while swimming. Although adaptive swimwear is necessary, specialized designs are more crucial for individuals with highly specific body characteristics, while athletes with certain physical standards already have access to swimwear designs that meet existing standards. Identified needs include materials that are elastic and quick-drying, designs that allow for freedom of movement, and protection against skin irritation caused by direct contact with pool water. Additionally, the importance of designs that account for the varying body shapes of swimmers with limb impairments was highlighted by the informants.
