Abstract

Penelitian korelasi ini, dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecanduan media sosial dengan keterampilan sosial siswa kelas X di SMAN 81 Jakarta. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 179 siswa. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen Social Media Addiction Scale - Student Form (SMAS-SF) dan Social Skills Inventory (SSI). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara kecanduan media sosial dengan keterampilan sosial siswa kelas X SMAN 81 Jakarta. Dimana hasil menunjukkan bahwa kecanduan media sosial siswa tinggi, dan keterampilan sosial siswa pun tinggi. Dikarenakan, terdapat terdapat pengawasan dari pihak sekolah; guru dan peraturan sekolah yang membuat siswa terkondisikan dalam penggunaan media sosial. Sehingga, siswa dapat mengendalikan diri dan menempatkan waktu saat menggunakan media sosial, belajar dan saat ingin bergaul dikehidupan nyata. This correlation study was conducted to determine the relationship between social media addiction and social skills of tenth grade students in SMAN 81 Jakarta. The sample in this study amounted to 179 students. Sampling using a random sampling technique. The method that used in this research is a quantitative approach with survey method. Data collection was performed using Social Media Addiction Scale - Student Form (SMAS-SF) and Social Skills Inventory (SSI) instruments. The results of this study indicate a positive correlation between social media addiction and social skills of class X students of SMAN 81 Jakarta. The results show that students social media addiction is high, and students' social skills are high. Because, there is supervision from the school; teachers and school rules that make students conditioned in the use of social media. So, students can control themselves and put time when using social media, learning and when they want to get along in real life.
