Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi metode montessori dalam pengenalan konsep bilangan pada anak usia dini di area matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menerapkan metode kualitatif deskriptif di Jakarta Montessori School pada early childhood level yang berfokus pada usia 3 – 6 tahun. Pengambilan data yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, yaitu peneliti mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan memverifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi yang dilakukan Jakarta Montessori School untuk mengenalkan konsep bilangan dilakukan dengan perencanaan pembelajaran, lingkungan yang disiapkan, penggunaan media pembelajaran yang dibuat oleh Maria Montessori, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan penilaian pembelajaran. Perencanaan pembelajaran dimulai dengan asesmen awal untuk mengetahui sejauh mana anak mengetahui konsep bilangan dan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran. Lingkungan yang disiapkan merupakan prinsip yang diterapkan oleh guru agar memudahkan anak mengenal konsep bilangan. Media pembelajaran berupa material montessori memudahkan anak untuk mengenal konsep bilangan secara bertahap dimulai dari media konkret ke media abstrak. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan aktivitas matematika yaitu menggunakan material matematika dengan metode Three Period Lesson dan penerapan prinsip Respect for The Child dan Auto Education. Penilaian pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan observasi guru melalui pencatatan record keeping dan dokumentasi portofolio yang dapat dilihat orangtua melalui website Montessori Compass. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi metode Montessori dalam pengenalan konsep bilangan pada anak usia dini dilakukan melalui proses pembelajaran yang melibatkan guru, lingkungan yang disiapkan, serta material yang digunakan. Kata Kunci: Implementasi, Metode montessori, Konsep bilangan. ***** This research was conducted to describe and analyze the implementation of the Montessori method in introducing numeracy concepts to young children in the field of mathematics. This study is a qualitative research applying a descriptive qualitative method at Jakarta Montessori School, focusing on the early childhood level, specifically for children aged 3 to 6 years. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained from the study were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study indicate that the implementation carried out by Jakarta Montessori School in introducing numeracy concepts is done through lesson planning, the prepared environment, the use of learning materials created by Maria Montessori, the execution of learning activities, and learning assessment. Lesson planning begins with an initial assessment to determine how much the child knows about numeracy concepts and the preparation of a lesson plan. The prepared environment is a principle applied by the teacher to facilitate children's understanding of numeracy concepts. The learning materials in the form of Montessori materials help children to gradually understand numeracy concepts, starting from concrete materials to abstract ones. The learning process is carried out in three stages of mathematical activities, namely using mathematical materials with the Three Period Lesson method and the application of the principles of Respect for the Child and Auto Education. The learning assessment is carried out through teacher observation, record-keeping notes, and portfolio documentation that parents can access via the Montessori Compass website. This study concludes that the implementation of the Montessori method in introducing numeracy concepts to young children is carried out through a learning process involving the teacher, the prepared environment, and the materials used.
