Abstract
******* This study aims to identify the effectiveness of sport massage on the attention of DKI Jakarta athletes participating in the Aceh-Sumut XXI National Sports Week. The study used a Control Group Pre-Test and Post-Test design, involving two groups: a treatment group that received sport massage intervention and a control group without treatment. The study initially involved 170 respondents, but after the data validation process, each group consisted of 51 respondents. Data were analyzed using Jeffreys's Amazing Statistics Program (JASP) version 19.0. The data collection method used non-probability sampling method, with convenience sampling technique. Measurement of attention includes measurement of five aspects: maintaining attention, extensive internal attention, extensive external attention, narrow internal attention, and narrow external attention. Data analysis using MIXED ANOVA. The results of the analysis showed that: (1) There was no significant difference in the aspect of maintaining attention (F = 0.021, p = 0.887, Partial η² = 4.101×10-⁴); (2) A significant difference with medium effect was found in extensive internal attention (F = 5.778, p < 0.020, Partial η² = 0.104); (3) A highly significant difference with large effect in extensive external attention (F = 27.074, p < 0. 001, Partial η² = 0.351); (4) significant difference with a large effect on narrow internal attention (F = 66.913, p < 0.001, Partial η² = 0.572); and (5) significant difference with a large effect on narrow external attention (F = 28.779, p < 0.001, Partial η² = 0.365). Based on these results, the alternative hypothesis is accepted for four aspects of attention, namely extensive internal attention, extensive external attention, narrow internal attention, and narrow external attention. As for the maintaining attention aspect, there is no significant difference.
