Abstract

The research method used was research and development (R&D) following the Borg and Gall model. The subjects of this study were students from 4 SLB schools in Jember Regency. A total of 15 students were involved in the small group trial, 30 students in the large group trial, and 30 students were included in the effectiveness test, consisting of 15 students in the experimental group and 15 in the control group. The instruments used were questionnaires, interviews, and observations to assess the sitting volleyball learning model for special needs schools (SLB). The results of the study show that: (1) the learning model, comprising 24 models, can be applied to SLB students, and (2) the effectiveness test of the sitting volleyball learning model for students with physical disabilities revealed that the N-gain score calculation showed an average score of 49.92 or 49.9%, which is categorized as highly effective, with a minimum N-gain score of 37.19% and a maximum of 51.13%. Meanwhile, the control group scored an average of 11.28 or 11%, which is categorized as ineffective. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the sitting volleyball learning model is highly effective in improving volleyball learning outcomes at the SLB level.
