Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran kartu “English Train-Word Card” berbasis metode Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) bagi kelas 5 SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D dengan model ADDIE yang masing masing menyimbolkan huruf utamanya, yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data berdasarkan angket yang diberikan dan dihitung dalam skala likert. Pada kegiatan analisis ditemukan media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang kurang menarik, juga kurang mendukung keterlibatan aktif peserta didik, serta penggunaan metode TPRS yang masih terbatas. Pada kegiatan desain media ini mengutamakan warna dan ilustrasi serta cerita yang menarik. Kemudian pada kegiatan pengembangan (development) dilakukan tahap pembuatan produk dan uji validasi kepada ahli yang mendapatkan skor rekapitulasi sebesar 89% yang berarti sangat layak untuk diujicobakan kepada peserta didik di lapangan. Yang kemudian dilakukan 2 tahap ujicoba kepada peserta didik kelas 5 SD di SDN Pondok Bambu 02 melalui 3 tahap yaitu Small Group Evaluation dan Field Test yang masing masing dilakukan pada 6 dan 36 orang dan mendapatkan rekapitulasi skor sebesar 88% yang berarti sangat baik serta mendapatkan hasil sangat puas berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan. Adapun produk digunakan lebih maksimal dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Dasar kelas 5 ********** This study aims to develop an educational card-based learning medium entitled English Train-Word Card, based on the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) method, specifically designed for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which comprises five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a Likert scale. The analysis phase identified that the existing English learning media lacked engaging elements, did not sufficiently support active student participation, and that the implementation of the TPRS method was still limited. In the design stage, the media emphasized the use of vibrant colors, illustrations, and engaging storytelling. The development phase included product creation and expert validation, which yielded a score of 89%, indicating the media was highly feasible for field testing. Two stages of trials were then conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN Pondok Bambu 02, involving Small Group Evaluation and Field Testing with 6 and 36 participants, respectively. The trials produced a score of 88%, placing the media in the “excellent” category, and interviews revealed high levels of student satisfaction. The final product is considered highly suitable for enhancing English language learning among fifthgrade elementary students
