Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi secara empiris terkait pengaruh penggunaan model cooperative learning tipe make a match dengan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan posttest only control group design. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-F dan VII-G di SMP Negeri 31 Depok. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diukur dengan instrumen tes berupa lima butir soal uraian pada materi statistika dan telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi α=0,05, didapat bahwa t_hitung=4,128 dan t_((0,95;63))= 0,063 sehingga nilai dari t_hitung≥t_((0,95;63)), maka tolak H_0 yang berarti rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas ekperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa pada kelas kontrol. Nilai Cohen’s effect size yang diperoleh adalah 1,02 yang termasuk pada kategori besar dengan persentase 84%. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan model cooperative learning tipe make a match dengan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP Negeri 31 Depok. Kata kunci: model cooperative learning tipe make a match, pendekatan kontekstual, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. This study aims to obtain empirical information related to the influence of using cooperative learning type make a match with a contextual approach on students' mathematical problem-solving ability. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experiment with a posttest-only control group design. The samples used in this study was students of class VII-F and VII-G in SMP Negeri 31 Depok. The sampling technique used are cluster random sampling. Students' mathematical problem-solving abilities were measured using a test instrument in the form of five descriptive questions on statistics that has been proved valid and reliable. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test with a significance of α = 0.05 obtained that tvalue = 4.128 and t_((0,95;63)) = 0.063 so that the tvalue ≥ t_((0,95;63)), then H0 is being rejected, which means the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class is higher than students in the control class. The Cohen's effect size value obtained is 1.02, which is included in the large category with a percentage of 84%. Based on the results that has been obtained, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the application of the cooperative learning type make a match with a contextual approach on the mathematical problem-solving ability of SMP Negeri 31 Depok students.
