Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena post-truth melalui konten politik di platform media sosial TikTok serta dampaknya terhadap perilaku politik generasi Z, khususnya mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap 11 narasumber mahasiswa aktif yang memiliki pengalaman dalam organisasi kampus dan terpapar konten politik di TikTok. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten politik di TikTok banyak mengandung unsur post-truth, seperti pembingkaian emosional, pemilihan fakta secara selektif, disinformasi, dominasi figur non-ahli dan viralitas sebagai legitimasi. Fenomena ini berdampak negatif yaitu polarisasi pandangan politik, menurunnya rasionalitas dalam pengambilan keputusan politik, apatisme politik, meningkatnya aktivisme instan, menurunnya kualitas argumentasi politik serta dampak positif yaitu meningkatnya pastisipasi politik digital, memicu kesadaran akan pentingnya literasi media dan politik bagi mahasiswa serta meningkatkan sensitivitas terhadap propaganda politik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya penguatan literasi digital dan politik di kalangan generasi muda agar mampu menyikapi informasi secara kritis dalam era post-truth.Kata Kunci: Post-truth, Generasi Z, Perilaku politik******This study aims to understand the post-truth phenomenon through political content on the social media platform TikTok and its impact on the political behavior of Generation Z, especially students at Jakarta State University. The method used is a descriptive qualitative study with a purposive sampling technique on 11 active student informants who have experience in campus organizations and are exposed to political content on TikTok. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results show that political content on TikTok contains many post-truth elements, such as emotional framing, selective selection of facts, disinformation, the dominance of non-expert figures and virality as legitimacy. This phenomenon has negative impacts such as the polarization of political views, decreased rationality in political decision-making, political apathy, increased instant activism, decreased quality of political argumentation. While positive impacts include increased digital political participation, sparking awareness of the importance of media and political literacy for students and increasing sensitivity to political propaganda.This study recommends the importance of strengthening digital and political literacy among the younger generation to be able to respond critically to information in the post-truth era.Keywords: Post-truth, Generation Z, Political behavior
