Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh model pembelajaran yang digunakan di dalam kelas belum mampu menciptakan kondisi belajar yang optimal dan kurangnya partisipasi serta keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran sehingga mempengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan motivasi belajar melalui model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) pada mata pelajaran sosiologi siswa kelas XI di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar. Hipotesis penelitian ini didasarkan dengan pengambilan keputusan: H0 tidak terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar melalui model pembelajaran tipe Teams Games Tournament; Ha terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar melalui model pembelajaran tipe Teams Games Tournament. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) (O) sebagai variabel bebas dan penggunaan motivasi belajar (X) sebagai variabel terikat. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April – Mei 2025. Populasi target dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar 131 siswa. Populasi terjangkaunya adalah 2 kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar yang berjumlah 40 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan kelas XI E berjumlah 20 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas XI A berjumlah 20 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan nilai rata – rata hasil posttest motivasi belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang dilakukan penerapan metode pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament dan kelas kontrol yang diterapkan metode pembelajaran ceramah dengan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0,01< dibandingkan 0,05. Kemudian diperoleh nilai rata – rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 127,2 dengan nilai rata - rata indikator motivasi belajar sebesar 79%, dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata – rata sebesar 114,9 dengan perolehan nilai rata – rata indikator motivasi belajar sebesar 71%. This research is motivated by the learning model used in the classroom not being able to create optimal learning conditions and the lack of student participation and activeness in learning, thus affecting student learning motivation. This study aims to examine differences in learning motivation through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in sociology among eleventh-grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar. This research hypothesis is based on the following conclusions: H0: There is no difference in learning motivation through the Teams Games Tournament learning model; Ha: There is a difference in learning motivation through the Teams Games Tournament learning model. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model (O) as the independent variable and learning motivation (X) as the dependent variable. The research location was at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar. The research was conducted between April and May 2025. The target population was all 131 eleventh-grade students at Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar High School. The accessible population was two eleventh-grade classes at Muhammadiyah 1 Denpasar, each with 40 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with 20 students from class XI E serving as the control class and 20 students from class XI A serving as the experimental class. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the average value of the posttest results of student learning motivation between the experimental class that implemented the Teams Games Tournament learning method and the control class that implemented the lecture learning method with a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.01 < compared to 0.05. Then the average value of the experimental class was 127.2 with an average value of the learning motivation indicator of 79%, compared to the control class with an average value of 114.9 with an average value of the learning motivation indicator of 71%.
