Abstract

Siti Inayah Az Zahra, Pengaruh Penggunaan Aplikasi Duolingo Untuk Meningkatkan Kosakata Bahasa Arab Terhadap Pemahaman Siswa Kelas XI SMAN 72 Jakarta: Penelitian Eksperimen. Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Februari 2025. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 72 Jakarta pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan aplikasi Duolingo terhadap peningkatan kosakata Bahasa Arab siswa kelas XI SMAN 72 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN 72 Jakarta dengan sampel kelas XI-F sebagai kelas eksperimen terdiri atas 30 siswa dan kelas XI-D sebagai kelas kontrol terdiri atas 30 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Teknik Purposive Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pre-test dan tes akhir post-test yang berbentuk pilihan ganda. Adapun teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini mencakup uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji Mann-Whitney, uji Wilcoxon, dan gain score untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar. Uji normalitas dilakukan menggunakan uji Shapiro-Wilk untuk memastikan data berdistribusi normal. Selanjutnya, uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Levene bertujuan untuk melihat kesamaan variansi antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Setelah itu, uji Mann-Whitney digunakan untuk membandingkan hasil post-test antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol guna mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam peningkatan kosakata Bahasa Arab. Sementara itu, uji Wilcoxon digunakan untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil pre-test dan post-test dalam masing-masing kelompok. Terakhir, peningkatan hasil belajar dianalisis menggunakan gain score, yang mengukur efektivitas penggunaan Duolingo dalam pembelajaran kosakata. Hasil analisis data akan menentukan apakah aplikasi Duolingo memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kosakata Bahasa Arab siswa. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam inovasi metode pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Kata Kunci: Duolingo. This study was conducted at SMAN 72 Jakarta in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year with the aim of knowing the effect of using the Duolingo application on increasing the Arabic vocabulary of class XI students of SMAN 72 Jakarta. This research used experimental method. The population of this study were all students of class XI of SMAN 72 Jakarta with a sample of class XI-F as an experimental class consisting of 30 students and class XI-D as a control class consisting of 30 students. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were pre-test and post-test final test in the form of multiple choice. The data analysis techniques in this study include normality test, homogeneity test, Mann-Whitney test, Wilcoxon test, and gain score to measure the improvement of learning outcomes. The normality test was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test to ensure that the data was normally distributed. Furthermore, the homogeneity test using the Levene test aims to see the similarity of variance between the experimental group and the control group. After that, the Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the post-test results between the experimental and control groups to find out whether there was a significant difference in Arabic vocabulary improvement. Meanwhile, Wilcoxon test was used to analyze the difference in pre-test and post-test results in each group. Finally, the improvement of learning outcomes was analyzed using gain score, which measures the effectiveness of using Duolingo in vocabulary learning. The results of the data analysis will determine whether the Duolingo application has a significant effect on improving students' Arabic vocabulary.
