Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pelaksanaan dan penerapan metode tutor sebaya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca al-Quran pada siswa, yang dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi emosional siswa seperti rasa cemas dan gugup ketika membaca al-Quran di hadapan guru. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merujuk pada teori Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) dari Vygotsky, yang menekankan pentingnya peran interaksi sosial dalam pengembangan kemampuan belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan tiga siklus, masing-masing satu kali pertemuan. Setiap siklus mencakup empat tahap, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X-1 SMAN 14 Jakarta yang berjumlah 21 siswa dan beragama Islam saja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca al-Qur’an yang cukup signifikan dari pra-siklus hingga siklus III. Pada pra-siklus, rata-rata nilai siswa berada di angka 59,76%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 64,76% pada siklus I dengan ketuntasan klasikal 47,61%. Pada siklus II, rata-rata naik menjadi 79,40% dengan ketuntasan klasikal 76,19%, dan pada siklus III mencapai 87,98% dengan ketuntasan klasikal 100%. Selain itu, hasil analisis N-Gain menunjukkan skor sebesar 0,7151 yang tergolong dalam kategori tinggi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan metode tutor sebaya efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca al-Qur’an siswa kelas X-1 SMAN 14 Jakarta. ***** This study aims to examine the implementation and application of peer tutoring methods in improving students' ability to read the Quran, which is motivated by students' emotional conditions such as anxiety and nervousness when reading the Quran in front of teachers. The approach used in this study is based on Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) theory, which emphasizes the importance of social interaction in the development of learning abilities. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles, each consisting of one meeting. Each cycle includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects are 21 students from class X-1 of SMAN 14 Jakarta, all of whom are Muslim. The research results showed a significant improvement in Quran reading skills from the pre-cycle to cycle III. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 59.76%, which increased to 64.76% in cycle I with a classical completion rate of 47.61%. In cycle II, the average increased to 79.40% with a classical completion rate of 76.19%, and in cycle III, it reached 87.98% with a classical completion rate of 100%. In addition, the N-Gain analysis results showed a score of 0.7151, which is classified as high. These findings indicate that the application of the peer tutoring method is effective in improving the Quran reading skills of students in class X-1 at SMAN 14 Jakarta.
