Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan bahan ajar bahasa Jepang berbasis aktivitas belajar dengan pendekatan Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) bagi peserta pelatihan di lembaga pelatihan kerja. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterlibatan komunikatif siswa dalam praktik bahasa Jepang serta kebutuhan akan materi yang menyajikan aktivitas komunikatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang di LPK. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE, meliputi tahap Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Pada tahap design dan development, bahan ajar dirancang dengan menggunakan pendekatan CLT yang menekankan empat jenis aktivitas belajar di dalamnya, seperti Structural activities, Quasi-communicative activities, Functional communication activities dan Social interaction activities. Uji kelayakan bahan ajar melibatkan uji ahli dari ahli media pembelajaran, ahli materi bahasa Jepang, dan ahli desain pembelajaran. Lalu, evaluasi dilakukan melalui wawancara dan kuesioner. Uji efektivitas dilakukan dengan menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan pemelajar melalui uji N-Gain dari hasil pretest-posttest pada 17 pemelajar di LPK Kokorono Siji. Hasil uji kelayakan menunjukkan skor rata-rata 2,83 (media pembelajaran), 3,60 (materi), dan 3,22 (desain pembelajar), hal ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar bahasa Jepang dinyatakan “layak” untuk digunakan. Efektivitas bahan ajar diukur dari peningkatan hasil belajar, dengan rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,45 (kriteria sedang). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar dinyatakan cukup efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang di lembaga pelatihan kerja. Berdasarkan temuan, bahan ajar bahasa Jepang berbasis aktivitas belajar dengan pendekatan CLT bagi peserta pelatihan di lembaga pelatihan kerja ini dinyatakan layak secara materi, media dan desain pembelajaran, serta efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikatif pemelajar. Sehingga bahan ajar ini dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepang di lembaga pelatihan kerja. ***** This study aims to develop Japanese language teaching materials based on activity-based learning using the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach for participants in vocational training institutions. The study was motivated by the low level of communicative engagement among learners during Japanese language practice and the urgent need for teaching materials that incorporate communicative activities in such learning environments. The development process followed the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. In the design and development stages, the materials were crafted using the CLT approach, integrating four types of learning activities: structural activities, quasi-communicative activities, functional communication activities, and social interaction activities. Feasibility validation involved expert reviews from specialists in instructional media, Japanese language content, and instructional design. Evaluation was conducted through interviews and questionnaires. Effectiveness was tested using N-Gain analysis based on pre-test and post-test results from 17 learners at the LPK Kokorono Siji. The feasibility results showed average scores of 2.83 for instructional media, 3.60 for content, and 3.22 for instructional design, all classified as “feasible.” The effectiveness of the teaching materials was reflected in learners’ performance improvement, with an average N-Gain score of 0.45, categorized as moderate, indicating their adequate effectiveness for implementation in Japanese language training at vocational institutions. Based on these findings, the Japanese language teaching materials developed through activity-based learning with a CLT approach are considered feasible in terms of content, media, and instructional design, and effective in enhancing learners’ communicative competence. Therefore, these materials are suitable for integration into Japanese language training programs at vocational institutions.
