Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kanal YouTube “Indonesia Fairy Tales” terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerita fantasi pada siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 31 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Pretest-Posttest Kontrol Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 31 Jakarta. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling sehingga terpilihlah kelas VII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-D sebagai kelas kontrol. Rata-rata skor tes awal yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen sebesar 65, sedangkan tes akhir sebesar 82. Pada kelas kontrol, skor tes awal yang diperoleh sebesar 61, sedangkan tes akhir sebesar 74. Uji prasyarat analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS dengan uji normalitas (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) pada tes awal dan tes akhir kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,200 untuk semua kelompok yaitu tes awal kelas kontrol, tes akhir kelas kontrol, tes awal kelas eksperimen, dan tes akhir kelas eksperimen. Karena semua nilai tersebut melebihi taraf signifikansi 0,05 maka data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal. Uji homogenitas menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) Levene’s Test untuk data gabungan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,121 dan untuk data gabungan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,105 dan menyatakan bahwa data tersebut memiliki varians yang homogen, artinya Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Uji hipotesis yang dilakukan menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, media channel YouTube “Indonesia Fairy Tales” dapat digunakan sebagai media yang baik untuk pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya menulis teks cerita fantasi. Kata Kunci: YouTube, Indonesia Fairy Tales, Keterampilan Menulis, Cerita Fantasi, Siswa SMP ***** This study aims to determine the effect of using the YouTube channel media "Indonesia Fairy Tales" on the skills of writing fantasy story texts in class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 31 Jakarta. This study uses an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The population of this study was class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 31 Jakarta. The sample in this study was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique so that class VII-C was selected as the experimental class and class VII-D as the control class. The average pretest score obtained by the experimental class was 65, while the posttest was 82. In the control class, the pretest score obtained was 61, while the posttest was 74. The prerequisite test of data analysis was conducted using SPSS with the normality test (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) on the pretest and posttest of the experimental class and the control class showing a significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.200 for all groups, namely the pretest of the control class, posttest of the control class, pretest of the experimental class, and posttest of the experimental class. Because all of these values exceed the significance level of 0.05, the data is stated to be normally distributed. The homogeneity test shows the significance value (Sig.) Levene's Test for the combined data of the control class of 0.121 and for the combined data of the experimental class of 0.105 and states that the data has a homogeneous variance, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The hypothesis test conducted shows the Sig. value (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, so there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the results above, the YouTube channel media "Indonesia Fairy Tales" can be used as a good media for learning Indonesian, especially writing fantasy story texts.
