Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan media sandpaper letters dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan peserta didik tunagrahita. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah satu orang peserta didik tunagrahita kelas 4 SDLB Negeri 7 Jakarta berinisial RJ. Penelitian menggunakan metode Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain A-B-A. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi, serta dianalisis secara visual melalui grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan frekuensi keberhasilan subjek dalam menulis huruf vokal (u), (e), dan (o) setelah diberikan intervensi menggunakan media sandpaper letters. Pada tahap baseline awal (A1), kemampuan menulis subjek rendah dan tidak konsisten. Setelah diberikan intervensi (B), kemampuan menulis meningkat secara signifikan dan cenderung stabil hingga tahap baseline kedua (A2). Kesimpulannya, media sandpaper letters dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan peserta didik tunagrahita. Disarankan bagi guru pendidikan khusus untuk menggunakan media ini sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran menulis awal. ***** This study aims to determine the application of sandpaper letters in improving the early writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities. The subject of this study was one student with intellectual disabilities in grade 4 at SDLB Negeri 7 Jakarta, with the initials RJ. The study used the Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B-A design. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation, and were analyzed visually using graphs. The results of the study showed an increase in the frequency of success of the subject in writing the vowels (u), (e), and (o) after being given intervention using sandpaper letters. At the initial baseline stage (A1), the subject's writing ability was low and inconsistent. After being given intervention (B), the subject's writing ability increased significantly and tended to be stable until the second baseline stage (A2). In conclusion, sandpaper letters can improve the early writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities. It is recommended that special education teachers use this medium as an alternative in early writing instruction.
