Abstract

Kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar, khususnya pada teks narasi, masih tergolong rendah. Banyak siswa belum mampu memahami informasi secara literal dari bacaan yang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks narasi siswa kelas III B SDN Bangka 03 Pagi melalui penerapan model Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 20 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi, tes evaluasi keterampilan membaca, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman literal siswa, yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan hasil tes dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, persentase siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) sebesar 55%, meningkat menjadi 85% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, model Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa memahami isi bacaan narasi secara lebih baik. ***** Reading comprehension skills, especially in narrative texts, remain low among primary school students. Many students are still unable to understand literal information from the texts they read. This study aims to improve the reading comprehension skills of narrative texts in Grade III B students of SDN Bangka 03 Pagi through the application of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model. The research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 20 students. The instruments used included observation sheets, reading comprehension tests, and field notes. The results showed that the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model improved students' literal reading comprehension skills, as evidenced by an increase in test results from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, 55% of students met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), which increased to 85% in Cycle II. Thus, the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) model proved effective in helping students better understand narrative texts.
