Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada konflik batin yang dialami oleh tokoh utama yaitu Hamida dan Hamido dalam novel Al-Ughniyyat Ad-Dairiyyah karya Nawal El Saadawi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kutipan novel Al-Ughniyyat Ad-Dairiyyah. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kebutuhan Abraham Maslow. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan 12 temuan, yaitu takut 3 temuan, sedih 2 temuan, malu 2 temuan, cemas 2 temuan ,trauma 3 temuan. Kemudian faktor penyebab terjadinya konflik batin ada 16 temuan. Kesatu, kurangnya kebutuhan fisiologi 4 temuan, terlihat dari tokoh utama yang mencuri karena kelaparan, terbiasa tidak mengenakan alas kaki, dan tidak memiliki tempat tinggal yang pasti. Kedua, kurangnya rasa aman dan memiliki 4 temuan, terlihat saat tokoh utama mengalami kekerasan seksual dan bertahan hidup di kota asing tanpa orang tua. Ketiga, kurangnya kasih sayang 2 temuan, terlihat saat tokoh utama dipaksa untuk meninggalkan rumahnya karena kondisi masyarakat di tempat tinggalnya. Keempat, kurangnya penghargaan 4 temuan, terlihat saat tokoh utama merasa tidak dihargai keberadaannya sebagai seorang perempuan dan direndahkan sebagai seseorang yang tidak memiliki kuasa. Kelima, tidak adanya kesempatan untuk mengaktualisasikan diri 2 temuan, terlihat saat tokoh utama tidak merasa menjadi perempuan atau laki-laki seutuhnya karena permainan kekuasaan pemerintah terhadap gender dan kalangan rakyat bawah. Kata kunci: Konflik Batin, Psikologi Sastra, Teori Kebutuhan Bertingkat Abraham Maslow ***** This research focuses on the inner conflict experienced by the main characters, Hamida and Hamido, in the novel Al-Ughniyyah Ad-Da’iriyyah by Nawal El Saadawi. The method used in this study is qualitative. The data are derived from selected excerpts of the novel. The theory applied in this research is Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory. The results of this study revealed 12 findings, namely: fear (3 findings), sadness (2 findings), shame (2 findings), anxiety (2 findings), and trauma (3 findings). Furthermore, there were 16 findings related to the factors causing internal conflict. First, the lack of physiological needs (4 findings), as seen in the main character stealing due to hunger, being accustomed to not wearing footwear, and not having a permanent place to live. Second, the lack of safety and belonging (4 findings), as seen when the main character experiences sexual violence and struggles to survive in a foreign city without parents. Third, the lack of affection (2 findings), as seen when the main character is forced to leave her home due to the social conditions in her place of residence. Fourth, the lack of appreciation (4 findings), as seen when the main character feels that her existence as a woman is not valued and she is demeaned as someone who has no power. Fifth, the absence of opportunities for self-actualization (2 findings), as seen when the main character does not feel entirely like a woman or a man due to the government’s power play over gender and the lower-class society.
