Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Index Card Match pada siswa kelas V SDN Kebon Kosong 17 Jakarta Pusat. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami isi bacaan, khususnya dalam mengenali kosakata baru, menemukan ide pokok, dan menyimpulkan isi bacaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Arikunto yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Index Card Match dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa, ditandai dengan meningkatnya skor rata-rata hasil evaluasi siswa pada setiap siklus serta tercapainya indikator keberhasilan yakni minimal 80% siswa mencapai nilai ≥75. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Index Card Match efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi siswa Sekolah Dasar. **** This study aims to improve reading comprehension skills in narrative texts through the implementation of the Index Card Match learning model in Grade V students of SDN Kebon Kosong 17, Central Jakarta. The problem addressed in this research is the students' low reading comprehension ability, particularly in understanding new vocabulary, identifying main ideas, and drawing conclusions from the text. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Arikunto model, conducted over three cycles. Each cycle consisted of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments used included observation sheets and written tests. The results of the study showed that the application of the Index Card Match model successfully improved students' reading comprehension skills, as evidenced by the increase in average test scores in each cycle and the achievement of the success indicator, namely at least 80% of students reaching a score of ≥75. Therefore, the Index Card Match learning model is considered effective in enhancing reading comprehension of narrative texts in elementary school students.
