Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan jenis, makna, dan fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi dalam novel Selamat Tinggal karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh langsung dari novel Selamat Tinggal karya Tere Liye berisi kutipan dialog. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat dengan mengidentifikasi jenis tindak tutur ilokusi, mengumpulkan data melalui pencatatan kutipan tuturan, dan menuliskan tuturan yang berpotensi ilokusi. Hasil penelitian dengan lima jenis tindak tutur ilokusi menggunakan teori John Searle (1979), menunjukkan bahwa, pertama tuturan yang paling banyak adalah tindak tutur direktif. Novel Selamat Tinggal banyak mengandung tuturan yang secara tidak langsung memengaruhi dan mendorong mitra tutur untuk melakukan suatu tindakan dari apa yang diminta penutur dalam percakapan. Kedua, tindak tutur yang paling sedikit adalah tindak tutur deklaratif. Hal tersebut terjadi dikarenakan hanya terdapat sedikit sekali percakapan yang terdapat dalam cerita yang mengandung perubahan status dari keputusan yang dibuat penutur yang memiliki otoritas lebih tinggi untuk merubah situasi dari keadaan sebelumnya. Tokoh-tokoh yang terdapat dalam novel juga sangat jarang menunjukkan keputusan yang mengubah situasi dibandingkan meminta mitra tutur melakukan sesuatu yang bersifat meminta, menyuruh, menyarankan, menasihati, atau hanya sekadar bertanya dengan harapan meminta jawaban kepada mitra tutur. Kata Kunci: Tindak Tutur Ilokusi, John Searle, Novel Selamat Tinggal Karya Tere Liye ***** The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the type, meaning, and function of illocutionary speech acts in the novel Selamat Tinggal by Tere Liye. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach. The data source in this research is obtained directly from the novel Selamat Tinggal by Tere Liye containing dialog quotes. The data collection technique uses reading and note-taking technique by identifying the types of illocutionary speech acts, collecting data through recording speech quotations, and writing down potentially illocutionary speech acts. The results of the research with five types of illocutionary speech acts using John Searle's theory (1979), show that, first, the most speech acts are directive speech acts. The novel Selamat Tinggal contains many utterances that indirectly influence and encourage speech partners to perform an action from what the speaker asks in the conversation. Second, the least speech act is declarative speech act. This happens because there are very few conversations in the story that contain changes in status from decisions made by speakers who have higher authority to change the situation from the previous situation. The characters in the novel also very rarely show decisions that change the situation rather than asking the speech partner to do something that is asking, telling, suggesting, advising, or just asking in the hope of asking the speech partner for an answer.
