Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam pembelajaran seni grafis Linocut sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif peserta didik dalam menciptakan karya nyata. Urgensi dari penelitian ini didasarkan pada perlunya strategi pembelajaran seni budaya yang tidak hanya berfokus pada hasil akhir, tetapi juga pada proses pembentukan kreativitas dan keterampilan teknis. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kreativitas peserta didik melalui tahapan pembelajaran Linocut yang terarah, berbasis proyek, serta menggunakan tema yang kontekstual, yaitu “Flora dan Fauna Indonesia” pada tahap pertama dan “Ragam Hias Flora dan Fauna Indonesia” pada tahap kedua. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif dan pendekatan formalistik yang memfokuskan kajian pada unsur-unsur rupa dan struktur visual karya peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner, dengan penilaian karya berdasarkan tabel modifikasi Brent G. Wilson yang menekankan aspek keterampilan dan kreativitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran seni grafis Linocut berbasis Project Based Learning mampu mendorong peningkatan kemampuan peserta didik secara teknis dan kreatif, meskipun capaian kategori Sangat Baik dan Baik baru mencapai sekitar 50% dari seluruh siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Project Based Learning penting sebagai alternatif pembelajaran seni yang bermakna, aktif, dan mampu mengembangkan potensi visual peserta didik secara optimal. Kata Kunci: Cetak Tinggi, Seni Grafis Linocut, Kreativitas, Keterampilan, Project Based Learning ***** This study examines the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in Linocut printmaking instruction as a project-based learning approach that emphasizes active student engagement in creating real artworks. The urgency of this research lies in the need for an art education strategy that focuses not only on final results but also on the process of developing creativity and technical skills. The main objective of this study is to enhance students’ skills and creativity through a structured, project-based Linocut learning process using contextual themes, namely “Flora and Fauna of Indonesia” in the first stage and “Decorative Motifs of Indonesian Flora and Fauna” in the second stage. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a formalistic approach, focusing on the visual elements and structural composition of students’ artworks. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and students’ works were assessed using a modified version of Brent G. Wilson’s rubric, which emphasizes aspects of skill and creativity. The results indicate that Linocut printmaking learning based on Project Based Learning can significantly improve students' technical abilities and creativity, although the proportion of students achieving Excellent and Good categories only reached approximately 50%. These findings suggest that the application of Project Based Learning is important as an alternative instructional model for meaningful, active art learning that effectively fosters students’ visual potential.
