Abstract

Kecemasan belajar dipahami sebagai kondisi emosional berupa perasaan tidak nyaman, tegang, atau takut yang muncul dalam situasi akademik, khususnya selama proses pembelajaran IPA. Pemahaman konsep IPA merujuk pada kemampuan peserta didik dalam menafsirkan, mencontohkan, mengklasifikasikan, merangkum, menyimpulkan, membandingkan, dan menjelaskan materi yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecemasan belajar dengan pemahaman konsep Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) pada peserta didik kelas IV sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 76 peserta didik kelas IV dari dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kelurahan Cibinong yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket kecemasan belajar dan tes pemahaman konsep IPA. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kecemasan belajar dan pemahaman konsep IPA dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,318 yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan antar dua variabel, namun hubungan tersebut tergolong lemah. Hasil uji koefisien determinasi R Square adalah 0,101 yang berarti diperoleh nilai sebesar 10,1%. Hal ini berarti 10,1% kecemasan belajar IPA mempengaruhi dan sebanyak 89,9% ditentukan oleh faktor lain. Semakin tinggi tingkat kecemasan belajar yang dialami peserta didik, maka semakin rendah tingkat pemahaman konsep yang mereka miliki. ***** Learning anxiety is understood as an emotional condition characterized by feelings of discomfort, tension, or fear that arise in academic situations, particularly during science learning activities. Science concept understanding refers to students’ ability to interpret, exemplify, classify, summarize, infer, compare, and explain the material being studied. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between learning anxiety and science concept understanding among fourth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative correlational method with a descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 76 fourth grade students from two elementary schools in Cibinong, selected through cluster random sampling. The instruments used were a learning anxiety questionnaire and a science concept understanding test. Data analysis revealed a significant negative correlation between learning anxiety and science concept understanding, with a correlation coefficient of 0.318, indicating a weak relationship between the two variables. The coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.101, suggesting that learning anxiety contributed to 10,1% of the variance in science concept understanding, while the remaining 89,9% was influenced by other factors. The findings indicate that the higher the level of learning anxiety experienced by students, the lower their understanding of scientific concepts.
