Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji manajemen pendidikan karakter berbasis agama Kristen dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan sekolah menengah atas Kristen di Tangerang. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMA Kristen di daerah Tangerang yang beralamat di Jl. Honoris Raya, Blok J No.10. Hal yang melandasi dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah semakin meningkatnya kebutuhan akan penguatan karakter di tengah krisis moral generasi muda akibat dampak dari pengaruh negatif globalisasi, perkembangan teknologi, dan kurangnya integrasi nilai-nilai keagamaan dalam kehidupan peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dimana data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum dan kesiswaan, guru PAK, BK dan PKn, wali kelas, peserta didik, orangtua dan alumni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pendidikan karakter berbasis agama Kristen di sekolah ini dirancang dengan baik melalui manajemen yang sistematis, kolaboratif, dan evaluatif. Tahap perencanaan dirancang secara sistematis, terstruktur, dan terpadu dari pusat (yayasan) yang kemudian diintegrasikan ke dalam visi misi, tujuan pembelajaran, serta kurikulum yang sesuai. Pengorganisasian dilakukan dengan pendekatan whole-school, dimana melibatkan seluruh warga sekolah yaitu kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, peserta didik, orang tua dan alumni. Untuk tahap pelaksanaan berlangsung melalui pembelajaran kurikuler, ko-kurikuler, dan ekstrakurikuler, dimana setiap kegiatan wajib mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Kristiani. Tindakan lain yang dilakukan adalah dengan pendekatan teladan hidup dan komunikasi interpersonal yang membangun. Pendidikan karakter dilakukan secara terus-menerus sehingga menghasilkan proses pembiasaan yang efektif. Selanjutnya pada tahap monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan secara holistik dan berkelanjutan. Terdapat rubrik karakter dalam rapor, jurnal reflektif siswa, serta evaluasi dari guru dan yayasan yang dibarengi dengan tindak lanjut perbaikan dan penguatan program. Ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter berbasis agama Kristen berkontribusi besar dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Kata Kunci: Manajemen Pendidikan, Pendidikan Karakter, Agama Kristen, Mutu Pendidikan. ***** This study aims to examine the management of Christian-based character education in improving the quality of Christian high school education in Tangerang. The study was conducted at one of the Christian high schools in the Tangerang area located at Jl. Honoris Raya, Block J No. 10. The basis for this study is the increasing need for character strengthening amidst the moral crisis of the younger generation due to the negative impacts of globalization, technological developments, and the lack of integration of religious values in the lives of students. This study used a qualitative descriptive method where data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects were the principal, vice principal for curriculum and student affairs, PAK and PKn teachers, homeroom teachers, students, parents, and alumni. The results of the study indicate that the management of Christian-based character education in this school is well designed through systematic, collaborative, and evaluative management. The planning stage is designed systematically, structured, and integrated from the center (foundation) which is then integrated into the vision, mission, learning objectives, and the appropriate curriculum. The organization utilizes a whole-school approach, involving the entire school community: the principal, vice-principal, teachers, students, parents, and alumni. The implementation phase encompasses curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular learning, with Christian values being mandatory in every activity. Other measures include a role model approach and constructive interpersonal communication. Character education is implemented continuously, resulting in an effective habituation process. Furthermore, monitoring and evaluation are conducted holistically and continuously. Character rubrics are included in report cards, student reflective journals, and evaluations from teachers and the foundation, along with follow-up improvements and program strengthening. This demonstrates that Christian-based character education contributes significantly to improving the quality of education.
