Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh metode pembelajaran Mind Mapping terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik dalam pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan sosial (IPS) di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (literature review), dimana data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis dari berbagai jurnal ilmiah, artikel penelitian, serta sumber literatur yang relevan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terdapat 22 jurnal, ditemukan bahwa penerapan mind mapping secara konsisten menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, baik dalam aspek nilai rata-rata hasil belajar, persentase ketuntasan, maupun penguasaan indikator pemahaman konsep. Metode mind mapping terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa mengorganisasi informasi secara visual dan terstruktur, serta mempermudah pemahaman terhadap materi yang kompleks seperti kegiatan ekonomi, keberagaman, dan interaksi sosial. Selain itu, metode ini juga fleksibel karena dapat diterapkan secara mandiri maupun di kombinasikan dengan media atau model pembelajaran lainnya. Dengan demikian, Mind Mapping merupakan metode yang direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar IPS di jenjang Sekolah Dasar. Kata kunci : Mind Mapping, Pemahaman Konsep, Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial, Sekolah Dasar, Studi Pustaka. ***** This study aims to examine the effect of the Mind Mapping learning method on students' conceptual understanding in social studies (IPS) learning at the elementary school level. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, in which data were collected and analyzed from various scientific journals, research articles, and other relevant literature sources. Based on the analysis of 21 journals, it was found that the application of the Mind Mapping method consistently shows an improvement in students’ conceptual understanding, both in terms of average learning outcomes, achievement percentages, and mastery of conceptual understanding indicators. The Mind Mapping method has proven effective in helping students organize information visually and structurally, and in facilitating the understanding of complex materials such as economic activities, diversity, and social interactions. In addition, this method is also flexible,as it can be applied independently or in combination with other media or instructional models. Therefore, Mind Mapping is a recommended method to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes in social studies at the elementary school level.
