Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji perilaku orang tua dalam mendukung perkembangan bicara anak usia 4-5 tahun dengan speech delay di Wilayah Cahaya Titis, Depok. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku orang tua dalam mendukung perkembangan bicara anak dengan speech delay pada usia 4-5 tahun. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian melibatkan tiga orang tua yang memiliki anak berusia 4-5 tahun dengan speech delay di Wilayah Cahaya Titis, Depok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua berperan aktif sebagai fasilitator dalam mengembangkan kemampuan bicara anak melalui strategi utama, yaitu: (1) melibatkan anak dalam komunikasi sehari-hari; (2) mengajak anak berinteraksi dengan lingkungan sosial, untuk menumbuhkan motif berkomunikasi dan berpartisipasi dalam percakapan; (3) menerapkan aktivitas oral motor sebagai stimulasi organ bicara; (4) keterlibatan orang tua setelah terapi medis; dan (5) orang tua mendaftarkan anak mengikuti bimba dan sekolah persiapan. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua berbagai aktivitas komunikasi, sosial, dan motorik memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perkembangan bahasa anak dengan speech delay. Peran orang tua sebagai fasilitator tidak hanya memberikan stimulasi bahasa, namun juga menciptakan lingkungan sosial yang kaya interaksi, membangun motivasi anak untuk bericara, dan membantu anak untuk mencapai bentuk ideal bahasa melalui bimbingan yang terarah dan konsisten. Kata Kunci: Perilaku Orangtua, Speech Delay, Anak Usia Dini, Perkembangan Bahasa. ***** This study examines the behavior of parents in supporting the speech development of children aged 4-5 years with speech delay in the Cahaya Titis, Depok. The purpose of this study is to describe parental behavior in supporting the speech development of children with speech delay aged 4-5 years. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, dan documentation. The research subject involved three parents who have children aged 4-5 years with speech delay in the Cahaya Titis, Depok. The results show that parents play an active role as facilitators in developing their children’s speaking abilities through four main strategies: (1) engaging children in daily communication to help them become accustomed to using appropriate vocabulary; (2) encouraging children to interact with theoir social environment; (3) implementing oral motor activities to stimulate speech organs; (4) continuing medical therapy at home, where parents reinforce therapy outcomes through repeated exercises and daily stimulation: and (5) parents enroll their children in BIMBA AIUEO and persiapan school. The findings indivate that parental involvement in various communication, social, and motor activities contributes significantly to the language development of children with speech delay. The role of parents as facilitators not only provides linguistic stimulation but also creates a socially rich environment, builds children’s motivation to speak, and helps them achieve the ideal form of language through consistent and purposeful guidance.
