Abstract

Kompetensi sosial emosional siswa yang rendah membuat siswa kesulitan dalam mengendalikan emosi, kurang mampu berempati terhadap perasaan orang lain, sulit menyesuaikan diri dalam lingkup sosial, cenderung mengalami kesulitan dalam bekerja sama serta kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan, sehingga hal ini dapat menghambat perkembangan siswa di kehidupan sosial dan akademiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengasuhan orang tua terhadap kompetensi sosial emosional siswa di SMP Negeri 92 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antarvariabel penelitian secara objektif dan terukur melalui analisis statistik. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas 223 responden dari siswa yang bersekolah di SMP Negeri 92 Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dikarenakan penentuan sampel memiliki pertimbangan kriteria tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan pengasuhan orang tua terhadap kompetensi sosial emosional siswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peran orang tua dalam memberikan pengasuhan kepada anak merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi kompetensi sosial emosional seorang siswa. ***** Low social emotional competence of students makes it difficult for students to control their emotions, less able to empathize with the feelings of others, difficulty adjusting in social circles, tend to have difficulty in working together and difficulty in decision making, so that this can hinder students' development in their social and academic lives. This study aims to determine the effect of parental care on the social emotional competence of students at SMP Negeri 92 Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach that aims to determine the influence between research variables objectively and measurably through statistical analysis. The sample used in this study consisted of 223 respondents from students who attend SMP Negeri 92 Jakarta. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique because the sample determination has certain criteria considerations. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant influence of parental care on students' social emotional competence. This study confirms that the role of parents in providing care to children is very important for a student's social emotional competence.
