Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman kritis teks narasi dengan menggunakan metode Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review (SQ4R). Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Sungai Bambu 05 Pagi. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV A yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Model penelitian tindakan kelas yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah model spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart. Data hasil kemampuan membaca pemahaman kritis teks narasi pada siklus I mencapai 55%, lalu pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 74% dan akhirnya telah memenuhi kriteria ketercapaian yang ditetapkan pada siklus III yaitu mencapai 84%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode SQ4R dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman kritis teks narasi siswa kelas IV A SD Negeri Sungai Bambu 05 Pagi sehingga guru dapat menggunakan metode SQ4R sebagai salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman kritis teks narasi. ***** This classroom action research aims to improve the ability to read critical understanding of narrative texts using the Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review (SQ4R) method. This classroom action research was conducted at SD Negeri Sungai Bambu 05 Pagi. The subjects of this study were 31 students of class IV A. The classroom action research model used in this study in the spiral model from Kemmis and Mc.Taggart. The data on the results of the ability to read critical understanding of narrative texts in cycle I reached 55%, then in cycle II it increased to 74% and finally met the achievement criteria set in cycle III, which reached 84%. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the SQ4R method can improve the ability to read critical understanding of narrative texts of class IV A students of SD Negeri Sungai Bambu 05 Pagi so that teachers can use the SQ4R method as an alternative to improve the ability to read critical understanding of narrative texts.
