Abstract
Keterampilan membaca pemahaman literal bahasa Jepang, yang mencakup penguasaan membaca huruf bahasa Jepang, kosakata, dan pola kalimat pada siswa kelas XII SMAN 15 Kota Bekasi, masih tergolong rendah sehingga diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Card Sort dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca literal siswa serta mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis pre-eksperimen dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian adalah 35 siswa kelas XII-9 SMAN 15 Kota Bekasi tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, angket, dan observasi. Nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 76,57, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 58,30. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest, namun perbedaan tersebut menunjukkan banyaknya siswa yang mengalami penurunan skor berdasarkan hasil uji N-Gain. Demikian, metode Card sort tidak efektif meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman literal siswa. ***** The literal reading comprehension skills of Japanese, which include mastery of reading Japanese characters, vocabulary, and sentence patterns among 12th-grade students at SMAN 15 Kota Bekasi, are still relatively low, necessitating an innovative and collaborative teaching method. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Card Sort method in improving students' literal reading skills and to assess students' responses to its implementation. The research employs a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of the study consists of 35 students from class XII-9 at SMAN 15 Kota Bekasi for the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques include tests, questionnaires, and observations. The average pretest score was 76,57, while the average posttest score was 58.30. The t-test results show a significant difference between the pretest and posttest, but this difference reveals a decrease in scores for many students based on the N-Gain test results. Therefore, the Card sort method is not effective in improving students' literal reading comprehension skills.
