Abstract

Pembelajaran keterampilan membaca bahasa Arab di madrasah tsanawiyah masih menghadapi permasalahan berupa rendahnya keterlibatan aktif siswa serta belum optimalnya pemahaman terhadap teks bacaan akibat pembelajaran yang cenderung berpusat pada guru. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang mampu melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam proses membaca dan memahami teks, salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran RADEC. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan besarnya pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap hasil belajar keterampilan membaca bahasa Arab siswa kelas VIII di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 25 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII/2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII/5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, Paired Sample T-Test, Independent Sample T-Test, serta uji Effect Size menggunakan Cohen’s d. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan homogen, serta tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan awal yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol (p > 0,05). Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 55,80 menjadi 76,93, sedangkan kelas kontrol meningkat dari 54,47 menjadi 60,67. Hasil uji Independent Sample T-Test pada nilai posttest menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 < 0,05, yang menandakan adanya perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan. Uji Effect Size menghasilkan nilai Cohen’s d sebesar 2,14 yang termasuk dalam kategori pengaruh sangat besar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC berpengaruh signifikan dan memberikan dampak yang sangat besar terhadap hasil belajar keterampilan membaca bahasa Arab siswa kelas VIII di MTsN 25 Jakarta. ***** Teaching Arabic reading skills at the Islamic junior secondary school level still faces several challenges, particularly low student engagement and insufficient reading comprehension due to teacher-centered instructional practices. Therefore, an instructional model that actively involves students in the reading and comprehension process is needed. One such model is the RADEC learning model. This study aims to examine the effect and the magnitude of the effect of implementing the RADEC learning model on the Arabic reading skill learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 25 Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: class VIII/2 as the experimental group and class VIII/5 as the control group. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, Paired Sample T-Test, Independent Sample T-Test, and effect size analysis using Cohen’s d. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and there was no significant difference in the initial reading ability between the two groups (p > 0.05). The mean score of the experimental group increased from 55.80 to 76.93, while the control group’s mean score increased from 54.47 to 60.67. The Independent Sample T-Test results on the posttest scores indicated a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, demonstrating a statistically significant difference in learning outcomes. Furthermore, the effect size analysis yielded a Cohen’s d value of 2.14, which falls into the category of a very large effect. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model has a statistically significant effect and provides a very strong practical impact on improving students’ Arabic reading skill learning outcomes at MTsN 25 Jakarta.
