Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan bagi peserta didik hambatan intelektual ringan kelas V di SLBN 12 Jakarta melalui metode kupas rangkai suku kata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan lima pertemuan setiap siklusnya. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan tiga peserta didik dengan hambatan intelektual ringan kelas VI SLBN 12 Jakarta yang sebelumnya telah memiliki kemampuan awal dalam mengenal huruf. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara melalui tes lisan dan observasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan setelah penerapan metode kupas rangkai suku kata yang didukung oleh media pembelajaran canva. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan ratarata nilai dari tahap awal sebesar 48, meningkat menjadi 74 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 92 pada siklus II. Metode kupas rangkai suku kata dan media canva terbukti efektif dalam membantu peserta didik mengidentifikasi dan melafalkan lambang bunyi konsonan digraf /ng/, serta mengupas rangkai dan membaca kata yang berakhiran konsonan digraf /ng/. ***** This study aims to improve early reading skills among fifth-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLBN 12 Jakarta through the kupas rangkai suku kata method. The study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) by the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The research was conducted in two cycles, with five meetings in each cycle. The subjects of this study were three sixth-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLBN 12 Jakarta who already possessed basic letter recognition skills. Data were collected through oral tests and observation, while data analysis was carried out using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed an improvement in early reading skills after the implementation of the kupas rangkai suku kata method supported by canva learning media. This was evidenced by an increase in the average score from 48 at the initial stage to 74 in Cycle I, and reaching 92 in Cycle II. The kupas rangkai suku kata method and canva media proved effective in helping students identify and pronounce consonant digraph phonemes /ng/, as well as segment, blend, and read words ending with the consonant digraph /ng/.
