Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konsep diri mempengaruhi harga diri tokoh Yoshida Haru dalam anime Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi terbentuknya harga diri tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori self-construal yang dikemukakan oleh Markus & Kitayama (1991) untuk melihat konsep diri tokoh Yoshida Haru dan bagaimana hal tersebut mempengaruhi harga dirinya menggunakan aspek harga diri Coopersmith (1967) yang terdiri atas kekuatan(power), keberartian(significance), kebajikan(virtue) dan kemampuan(competence) serta faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pembentukan harga dirinya Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 20 data yang dibagi ke dalam dua kategori, yaitu harga diri dengan konsep diri independent dan harga diri dengan konsep diri interdependent. Peneliti menemukan bahwa tokoh Yoshida Haru cenderung memiliki konsep diri interdependent. Konsep diri tersebut mempengaruhi harga dirinya yang dilihat melalui tindakan dan perilakunya. Haru memandang dirinya sebagai bagian dari kelompok dan hubungannya dengan kelompok. Faktor yang mempengaruhi terbentuknya harga diri tokoh Haru yaitu ia mulai menerima dirinya sendiri dan keterbukaannya dengan lingkungannya. ****** This study aims to determine how self-construal influences the self-esteem of the character Yoshida Haru in the anime Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and what factors influence the formation of that self-esteem. This study uses the self-construal theory proposed by Markus & Kitayama (1991) to examine the self-concept of the character Yoshida Haru and how it influences his self-esteem using Coopersmith's (1967) aspects of self-esteem, which consist of power, significance, virtue, and competence, as well as the factors that influence the formation of his self-esteem. The results of the study show that there are 20 data points divided into two categories, namely self-esteem with an independent self-construal and self-esteem with an interdependent self-construal. The researcher found that the character Yoshida Haru tends to have an interdependent self-construal. This self-construal influences his self-esteem, which can be seen through his actions and behavior. Haru sees himself as part of a group and his relationship with the group. The factors that influence the formation of Haru's self-esteem are that he has begun to accept himself and his openness to his environment.
