Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai manajemen teaching factory dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa pada jurusan desain komunikasi visual di SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta. Sub fokus pada penelitian ini, meliputi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini, meliputi kepala program keahlian desain komunikasi visual, guru produktif desain komunikasi visual, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, dan siswa. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Perencanaan teaching factory dilakukan secara sistematis, terstruktur, dan partisipatif dengan mempersiapkan komponen penunjang pelaksanaan. 2) Pengorganisasian dilakukan secara terstruktur melalui pembagian tugas yang jelas serta didukung oleh komunikasi dan koordinasi. 3) Pelaksanaan teaching factory melalui kegiatan unit produksi dijalankan berdasarkan alur kerja industri dengan keterlibatan siswa secara aktif. 4) Pengawasan dilakukan secara rutin dan dijadikan dasar evaluasi untuk perbaikan pelaksanaan. Dengan penerapan manajemen teaching factory secara strategis oleh jurusan desain komunikasi visual, pelaksanaan teaching factory memberikan dampak langsung terhadap peningkatan kompetensi siswa, baik dari segi hard skill, soft skill, maupun kesiapan kerja. ***** This study aims to provide an overview of teaching factory management in improving student competency in the visual commucication design departement at SMK Negeri 48 Jakarta. The sub-focus of this research includes planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Informants in this study included the head of the visual communication design expertise program, productive visual communication design teachers, vice principal for curriculum, and students. The result of the study indicate that : 1) Teaching factory planning is carried out systematically, structured, and participatory by preparing supporting components for its implementation. 2) Organization is carried out in a structured manner through a clear division of tasks and supported by communication and coordination. 3) Implementation of the teaching factory through production unit activities is carried out based on industrial workflows with active student involvement. 4) Supervision is carried out routinely and used as a basic for evaluation to improve implementation. With the strategic implementation of teaching factory management by the visual communication design department, the implementation of teaching factory has a direct impact on improving student competency, both in terms of hard skills, soft skills, and work readiness.
