Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar penjumlahan dua bilangan dengan hasil maksimal 20 melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran batang Cuisenaire dengan metode demonstrasi pada siswa kelas IV hambatan intelektual. Subjek penelitian berjumlah tiga siswa kelas IV fase B dengan hambatan intelektual ringan di SLB BC Arrahman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes hasil belajar, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar penjumlahan pada setiap siklus. Pada pra siklus hasil belajar siswa belum mencapai target yang diharapkan, karena masih belum diberikan intervensi. Maka dari itu, pada siklus I mulai menggunakan media batang cuisenaire dan metode demonstrasi, terjadi peningkatan namun belum seluruh siswa tuntas karena satu subjek sering hilang fokus disebabkan kurang percaya diri dengan kemampuannya. Pada siklus II ada revisi rencana berupa manajamen kelas yaitu perubahan susunan tempat duduk, perubahan tersebut berefek pada seluruh siswa mencapai target yang diharapkan. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media batang Cuisenaire dipadukan metode demonstrasi efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar penjumlahan siswa hambatan intelektual. ***** This study aims to improve learning outcomes in addition of two numbers with a maximum sum of 20 through the use of Cuisenaire rod learning media combined with the demonstration method for fourth-grade students with intellectual disabilities. The research subjects consisted of three fourth-grade students in Phase B with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB BC Arrahman. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed an improvement in students’ addition learning outcomes in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, students’ learning outcomes had not yet reached the expected target because no intervention had been implemented. Therefore, in Cycle I, the Cuisenaire rods and the demonstration method were introduced, resulting in an improvement; however, not all students achieved mastery, as one subject frequently lost focus due to a lack of confidence in their abilities. In Cycle II, a revision of the plan was implemented in the form of classroom management, specifically changes in seating arrangements. This change had a positive effect, leading all students to achieve the expected learning targets. It can be concluded that the use of Cuisenaire rod media combined with the demonstration method is effective in improving addition learning outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities.
