Abstract
Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penjumlahan bilangan 1–10 pada siswa hambatan intelektual ringan kelas III di SLB Negeri 4 Jakarta melalui metode bermain berbantuan media boneka tangan dan benda konkret. Penelitian menggunakan desain PTK dua siklus, dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi; data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test, tes evaluasi tiap siklus, serta observasi proses belajar. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan kemampuan awal siswa masih rendah dengan rata-rata 25, terutama pada tahapan inti penjumlahan seperti menghitung jumlah akhir dan merepresentasikan jawaban. Setelah tindakan pada Siklus I, kemampuan siswa mulai meningkat dengan rata-rata kelas 42,5, namun ketuntasan belum merata sehingga diperlukan perbaikan strategi pada Siklus II. Pada Siklus II, terjadi peningkatan yang lebih stabil dengan rata-rata 82,5, dan 3 dari 4 siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar yang sudah ditetapkan. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode bermain berbantuan media boneka tangan efektif meningkatkan keterampilan penjumlahan 1–10, ditandai oleh peningkatan nilai dan penguasaan tahapan penjumlahan yang lebih runtut. ***** This classroom action research was conducted to improve the skills to perform addition of numbers 1–10 among third-grade students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 4 Jakarta through a play-based method assisted by hand puppet media and concrete objects. The study employed a two-cycle classroom action research design consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages; data were collected through a pre-test, evaluation tests at the end of each cycle, and observations of the learning process. The pre-test results indicated that students’ initial abilities were still low, with an average score of 25, particularly in the core stages of addition such as calculating the final total and representing answers correctly. After the implementation of Cycle I, students’ abilities began to improve, with the class averageincreasing to 42.5; however, learning mastery had not yet been achieved evenly, thus requiring strategy refinement in Cycle II. In Cycle II, a more stable improvement was achieved, with the class average reaching 82.5, and 3 out of 4 students attaining the predetermined mastery criteria. Therefore, the implementation of a play-based method assisted by hand puppet media proved effective in improving addition skills of numbers 1–10, as indicated by increased scores and more structured mastery of addition stages.
