Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV di SDN Pisangan Timur 11 pada materi Mengubah Bentuk Energi. Secara teoretis, pemanfaatan lingkungan berada dalam kawasan pemanfaatan Teknologi Pendidikan menurut Association for Educational Communications and Technology dan dianalisis menggunakan model pemanfaatan media dari Arief S. Sadiman. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru dan peserta didik kelas IV. Analisis difokuskan pada tiga tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan tindak lanjut penggunaan media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap persiapan guru telah merancang pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis lingkungan meskipun dokumentasi tertulis belum lengkap. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, taman sekolah dan daun dimanfaatkan sebagai media untuk mengamati proses fotosintesis sehingga peserta didik dapat mengonstruksi pemahaman tentang perubahan energi dari cahaya menjadi energi kimia. Proses ini selaras dengan teori konstruktivisme Jean Piaget dan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman dari David A. Kolb. Tahap tindak lanjut menunjukkan adanya refleksi guru untuk perbaikan pembelajaran, meskipun belum terdokumentasi secara sistematis. Secara keseluruhan, pemanfaatan lingkungan mendukung pembelajaran yang kontekstual, interaktif, dan bermakna. ***** This study aims to describe the utilization of the environment as a learning resource in Grade IV Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at SDN Pisangan Timur 11, particularly on the topic Energy Transformation. Theoretically, environmental utilization is situated within the utilization domain of Educational Technology as defined by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology and is analyzed using the media utilization model proposed by Arief S. Sadiman. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation involving the teacher and Grade IV students. The analysis focused on three stages: preparation, implementation, and follow-up. The findings indicate that during the preparation stage, the teacher designed contextual learning activities based on the school environment, although written documentation was incomplete. In the implementation stage, the school garden and leaves were used as learning media to observe photosynthesis, enabling students to construct an understanding of energy transformation from light energy to chemical energy. This process aligns with the constructivist theory of Jean Piaget and the experiential learning theory of David A. Kolb. The follow-up stage revealed reflective practices for instructional improvement, although not systematically documented. Overall, environmental utilization supports contextual, interactive, and meaningful learning.
